This hasn't been tested in a while, but I'm looking through the 2005 CSM and can't seem to reconcile something. It's page 571, problems C2 and C6. These are 1987#9 and 1993#2 (both the old Part 6), respectively.
The first uses (losses before 79 as of 12/86 minus losses before 79 as of 85) divided by 78 losses as of 12/85.
The second uses (losses before 1984 as of 12/92 minus losses before 84 as of 12/91) divided by 83 losses as of 12/91.
These seem to be a year off from one another in the numerator. It seems like one should be 8th-to-ultimate while the other should be 9th-to-ultimate. Any thoughts? Thanks.
