I'm planning on using the following for EA-2A:
Actex
Rick G's slides
SoA study notes
Farbers 110+ questions
Regs
Aitken Book & Solutions
Am I missing any materials?

Only thing I can think of is past exams.

I ordered the same stuff, plus a few textbooks. For those who already took the exam, what would you suggest be the first thing to read? I am confused with these EA exams because there isn't a set course of reading. When I took EA-2B last sitting I just read the Rick G. slides and did old exam questions, but failed badly. Any input would be appreciated.

This is what I am planning to do. I will start (have started a bit) with Farimond's cost method book and just do all the problems. If you don't have this , just use the Aitken.
Then, I will start doing Farber's manual of 170 problems. It will be hard at the beginning since I've forgotten the regs(I took EA-2 in Nov. 2000 before the split and have not sat for A or B since). I will be looking up solutions at the beginning. But it will get better as I do more problems. As I do each problem, I will look up the regs associated with it. Dave usually refers to them in his solutions. Then, I'll take notes on the regs.
Later, when I'm done with Dave's manual, I'll organize my notes and look at Rick G's overhead and put them together. After that, I'll work on old exams and hope it's not Nov. 1st yet. :)
Sitting down and just reading doesn't do anything for me. It just cures my insomnia.
Well, that's the plan at least! Following it is another thing. :)
Tell me what you think of it and add any suggestions. Thanks!

That sounds like a good plan. I was just wondering why you decided on the Farrimond book over the Aitken book. I really have no idea of which is better, but Traci seemed to like the Aitken book in another thread. I have both of them so could read either one.

Aitken is better if you don't already understand all of the funding methods. But the problems are too simplistic.
If you have a decent grasp of the funding methods, Farrimond provides mostly old EA-1B exam questions and so many of them that you can really start to fly on the HP-12C. After finishing this book, I could do any cost method question without writing anything down in 4 minutes or less!

Agree with Bobby. You can read the funding explanations from Aitken, but use Farrimond for problem solving.

Those who took EA-2A last fall, how much of the Aitken book would you recommend? Just the funding method part or the whole book. The syllabus talkes about G/L by source being on the test. I see there is a section on G/L in Aitken but wasn't sure how detailed the exam is.
