If you are a golf fan, would walking passes to the Canadian Open be a good gift?

I would suspect as much. Perhaps you could check the field to see who will be competing. I don't know a lot aboot golf, but I'm pretty sure not all the big names play all the tourneys. If no one of "importance" was going to be there, maybe the intended recipient wouldn't be interested? I don't know if this helps...

I hope I haven't offended any Canadians in the writing of this post. I wasn't suggesting golfers of "importance" wouldn't be willing to play in Canada, if that is in fact where the Canadian Open is played.

So far the following have confirmed:
Andrade, Billy
Frost, David
Hart, Dudley
Jones, Steve
O’Meara, Mark
Price, Nick
Sutton, Hal
And since the tourney is sponsored by Mike Weir's sponsor, I'm sure he'll be there too.

There's usually a fair turnout from the higher ranked players, often including the Tiger.

Sounds like you've got a pretty good handle on the situation to me. You clearly know far more than I when it comes to golf. I don't know most of the names on the list.

I'm sticking with my yes. In fact, I'd probably make it a YES.

I'm sure he'd prefer tickets to Pebble Beach, but the Canadian Open will do in a pinch. :P

It usually does get a decent amount of the top players, so I'm sure Mr. Kitten will enjoy it. :)

I would enjoy it, even if the really big names aren't there (is a trip involved?). My wife though would only go if we had seats & a hospitality tent.

Personally if you like to watch, it should be a fun experience.

No trip involved, it's just down the street. :) That way if either of us ends up working (I know I can't have the whole week off), then we can drop in before or after work.
I did end up buying the tickets for the week with terrace view of the 18th, whatever that means...

I would guess it means you can wander around the grounds all you want, but when you're ready you should have a seat where you can see the 18th green. That's only a good spot when the tourney is almost over.

If your tickets read "FLASHES not allowed", they really only mean Flash photography, ok?

With Ammie, this line would have automatically resulted in a "Oh my :o ", "Oh dear :o " or "Oh God :o ". Kitten was much less uptight about humo(u)r like this. Can't wait to see where Maxine is, on that scale!

I think the question should have read "will you be the one wanting to attack the one screaming "you da man"?"

Thanks for the help everyone. The gift was well received. Disappointing that Tiger and Mick won't be there, but plenty of other talent to watch. :)

I'll be heading over for a few hours today to catch some of the practice round. :) {So of course I got up early to study :roll: }
