I hate this period of time, especially. I have an Excel spreadsheet that functions as my planner/calendar. I added a counter that tells me how many days until expected results (FYI: I've targeted June 23rd). I'm all psyched because almost two whole weeks have passed already, only five weeks left! Woo-hoo!!!! god, I'm a loser......
Just give me this one so I can say I only have one left.........
Oh, how's this for spooky: my wife went to a "psychic" party a while ago. The woman addressed my wife and talked about my job (for which we had just moved). She told my wife I would be at "a new level" in three years. Guess when three years is? Yep, this summer......

You can also try Chinese astrology and fengshui. There are websites for these I think.

Personally I stick with the magic 8-ball.

I heard in Fengshui there are all sorts of mathematical formulas which would suit actuaries and perhaps produces a greater subjective reduction of uncertainty. Who knows, at some point maybe it can even be used in pricing or setting IBNR.

I personally prefer the actuarial dice. Easily adjusted to give IBNR needs from the thousands to the millions, as long as you don't need any 7,8,9, or 0s in there.

But a Ouija board provides all the digits . . .
I actually once had one on my office wall at a prior job as a joke. I had to take it down because all the psychic weirdos in the company did not get the joke and started to think I was one of their own and would drop by my office to tell me their strange experiences with the beyond. :shake:

I've seriously considered adding a dart board (velcro darts, or course...can't have weapons in the workplace!)

I count a Ouija mouse pad and two magic 8-balls (one of the Simpsons variety) as desk clutter/tools to mystify.
