They've been like clockwork recently, it seems. Seven weeks from the exam date, then the end of the week. I'm going with June 23rd - you heard it here first. I left off Mondays, 'cuz they never release results on Monday.

Thoughts?

I think they try to release 7 before 5 and 8, as it is the gatekeeper.

Not that I remember. I know last year they released 7C one day, then 7 and 8 came out the next day. I think 5 came out before the 2 of them, but don't remember for sure.

I sat next to someone who sat for 5 last year and he grumbled every day that week as the CAS was releasing everything but his results.

Sonicblue you're making us more nervous about this. Just imagine the tension during each of the nights during the 6-23 week. And after all that maybe nothing will come out during that week.

I [Justin Wilson]GAR-AWN-TEE[/Justin Wilson] that week will not pass without results......

'course, I have nothing to lose by throwing around lofty Namath-like statements....

3 more weeks of waiting. It will seem like 3 years.

Actually {knocks on wood} these four weeks have passed fairly quickly. Of course, that could just be due to the forty or so home repair/improvement projects I neglected all spring that I've been feverishly addressing ever since May 3rd....

Same thing for me and part 9.

well, you guys can't take Part 7 in the fall, so what are you waiting for?

'course, I don't have a fall exam left to take and I was never able to get myself back together and study any earlier than August, so I can play high-and-mighty!

Wnat my summer off (:
I'd like to do them in numerical order, but I also want to pass something this year, so my result from 7 will determine whether I start studying for 9...or not.

I heard from a reliable source that the graders are meeting in Las Vegas next week. I don't know if this means that we can expect results the week after, or not. Anyone know how long it takes to release grades after the graders meet?

Loki
06-07-2005, 11:48 AM
I think I've answered my own question. I checked last year's posts. In spring 2004 results were posted the week following when the graders met. So if this year is like last year, grades should be out the week of the 20th.

The graders are in Vegas this Thursday and Friday (6/9, 6/10) for sure. As most people are saying, the results should be out the week of the 20th, I would imagine.

*jaw drops*

NOT ACTIVE YET but here is the page that's ready and waiting:

http://www.casact.com/admissions/passlist/sp05/passnum7.htm

1, 2 and 4 are not anticipated until July 8th. That leaves only 5, 7 and 8 left in the near future. Do I dare get my hopes up for a release before the aforementioned "away week"? Couldn't be - that'd be sumkinda record.......

Part 3 results were released yesterday.

How could they release results when the graders haven't met yet?

I hope this means that all of the results will be out really really soon.

Loki

I think the graders that meet in Las Vegas are the graders of short answer questions. They need to reconcile the grading each individual has done. Since part 3 was all multiple choice, there is no need for graders to meet (there are no graders). They just scan, calculate statistics of results and meet over setting the pass mark.

Typically do the results come out the week after the graders meet (week six) or the week after (week seven).

GefilteFish144
06-10-2005, 12:03 PM
Typically end of Week 6 or beginning of Week 7.

sonicblue

Seems to me results have been coming out at the last half of the week after 7 full weeks have passed. Thus, my 23rd target date.

I just went back and looked at old posts for when results came out last year. Exam 7 Cananda was on 6/23 and Exam 7 USA was on 6/24. That was Wed and Thurs. One note through the exam party in Vegas was happened a half week earlier this spring.

Sure, the party's nice, but is it really worth having to grade all those papers from rebellious students who try to get negative scores? ;)

Wouldn't it be cool for you to pass Exam 7, so you'll be one of the few people who completed their final 2 requirements for ACAS in the same week!

My exam record is so pathetic that my PC and Exam 7 were 5 years apart! The CAS office even "forgot" that I had taken the course so I didn't get my application materials till I called them!

A friend of mine, who was supposed to attend the same PC I did (from out of town, was looking forward to the reunion) forgot to register and ended up needing to wait until he could attend another PC for his associateship.

no, I think they'd be annoyed and refer you to the policy for releasing results. The only call they might accept is: "if no results will be posted today can you change the website to indicate something to that effect?"

Alas, Loki, I truly believe the CAS gets quite the kick out of the torture/suspense we are all in. Adds to the "mystique of actuarial exams."
