A few may have noticed the forum a bit slower than normal the last few days. Most should have noticed no difference.
The problem lies with one of our providers. The server is connected directly to two backbones (UUNET and Group Telecom), and has backup feeds to two more. Most of the U.S. traffic will be coming in on the UUNET feed which is running fine. It appears that Group Telecom however is having a rough time the last few days. If you're coming in on the GT feed, you may have seen the slowdown. This would be dependent upon your connection to the internet. The local ISP that I use is through GT, so I've seen the slowdown myself.
GT is supposed to be Canada's largest backbone provider. Unfortunately I'm told that they're owned by Worldcom. This can't be good. I hope to discuss this with my ISP this evening, I'll let you know if there is a solution.
