Most of the programming for kids on PBS is awesome.
Caillou though, sucks.

Sesame Street makes a lot of money from merchandising. I believe it could survive on its own.

If it were on its own, the shareholders would probably demand some violence between Elmo and Snufalufagus.

Isn't it a shame that wholesome entertainment for children (don't GOPers stand for family values?) may lose its government funding while we spend 100's of billions of dollars procuring new oil reserves, er, I mean spreading freedom and democracy?

Elmo earns millions of dollars every year through dancing, hokey-pokeying, and other annoying activities. Elmo can stand on Elmo's own economic legs. There's no need for Elmo to be sucking on the government teat.

I can't imagine whatever subsidy PBS provides CTW is anywhere near the cost of production, or what a commercial network would pay CTW for rights to the show, and Sesame Street probably draws in tons of viewers to PBS and revenue in the form of corporate sponsorship of its other endeavors. I would question who is actually subsidizing whom in the case of Elmo.

He said he would only shut up on this issue. I'd rather be on the side of Elmo in the next election, so I won't give this up without a loud fight. They have god (or so Pseudolus claims), we have Elmo.

I'll take what I can. I don't watch Elmo and his voice really annoys me. So it's a small price to pay to shut up some righties on something.

The issue is funding PBS at all, not CTW. At least that's my understanding of it. Obviously Lautenburg is using some salesmanship here in his effort to protect the godless commie Newshour. And Firing Line.

I've already gotten Pseudolus to shut up. I'm not sure how I did it but he hasn't responded to me in months, even when I'm being nice. Even when I agree with him. Maybe he's weak minded and put me on ignore. Or maybe he's strong minded and ignoring me the old fashioned way. Maybe it was the comment about feeding Tuna to his wife. But that's his problem, he's the one implying there was no real danger and it was just our super duper technology that made us aware of this miniscule pollutants in the first place.

Ok. But first you have to tell me the subject and also your position. We might need to agree on what a 'ton' is too. But I'm not sure since I'm not sure what the wager is. And what is a 2pac style wager? I only bet in RF bucks, and the usual stake is a zillion dollars. Which reminds me, I never did get my check[s] from Griffins.
