For purposes of this poll, if one or both of your parents are deceased, use the age that s/t/he/y would be today if still alive.
It would also be of interest to know the minimum and maximum.
My case is neither. It is toward the upper end of what I believe is the distribution of posters here; I answered 140 - 159.9 (more precisely, the sum of my parents' ages is about 143).
(PS: This poll was inspired by the "Inherited Musical Taste" thread.)

I picked 120-140. I predict this will get more than half of the responses. Just a guess.

I'm a bit older than the average for this group. And my parents married later in life and had kids in their late 30's/early 40's. So they are up there.
My siblings and I figure that our family basically skipped a generation. We were raised in the 60's/70's with 30's/40's values.
Not a bad thing, but different.

My whole family has always done this - not sure why. My grandmother was 72 when I was born, and 80 when my sister was born. I'm from a rural area where people graduate high school and get pregnant, so my grandmother had gone to school with my best friend's great-grandmother. Always thought that was weird. And, that definitely affected the way we were raised, like you said.

I was the mid-life accident in my family so my parents are older. My nieces by my oldest sister are approximately my age. :D
My parents are in their mid-40's. My grandparents are all in their mid-to-late 60's. My family has tended to have children pretty early (19-20 years old), although my sister and I are putting an end to that tradition. :)
On the other hand, my significant other's parents are in their early 60's, so they're about the same age as my grandparents. He has a sibling who is significantly older than he is (~10 years older), but I think his parents were closer to 30 when they had their first child.

I assume that the 200+ reply was from Strommy. I guess he's doing okay if he still has the wits and good sense to continue to show up in this forum.

The biggest difference I've noticed is that my siblings and I are all constitutionally incapable of addressing our friend's parents as anything other than "Mr. and Mrs.". Or of using foul language in front of them.

So I guess that you are one of the Under 100s, as apparently you were born yesterday. :D
