On practice exam 1 Q9, I want to confirm that the last sentance should have read "find the resulting change in the smoothed value of z^10." instead of z^11.

Here is another bad question on practice exam 1. on question 13, I believe they should be looking for the estimated varience of the probability P[1<X<=4]. This way, there is only one correction for the solution on page 18 in the first line of the solution. replace every 2 with a 4. after that the solution is correct.

Yeah, it should be z^_10.

The "ordinary" moving 3 period average is defined as (1/3)*(y_t + y_(t-1) + y_(t-2))

Since in this problem they are defining the moving average according to the z's, which are only indexed up to 10, you are correct in saying that it is a mistake.

to JRL. Thanks for the confirmation. I will try to look for more problems as I go along. Currently I am stuck in a quagmire of credibility.

Credibility scared the hell out of me upon first inspection. I now feel pretty confident in it, thanks to ASM.

Let me know if you have a specific question.
Good luck.
