I just got to the part of survival analysis where you use ARCSIN. Do we have to have a calculator that can do ARCSIN? Or can they only test us by giving us a table? I curently only use the BA-35 Solar.

I don't know if we'll need to do arcsines, but you might consider picking up a TI-30X II anyway. Besides the trig functions and their inverses, it also has some stat functions. There are worse ways to spend $20 or so.

At least know the arcsine formulas. They can test us on that by providing the value of arcsin(sqrt(S-hat(t)). I also recommend getting a TI 30X II - it is much more useful for Course 4 than the BA-35.

yes, you are right. remember the formula and waiting the chance to pluck in figures

I am just glad to see arcsin appear in the title of a thread. Gives me hope that course 4 will be more interesting than Course 2, most of which won't even be tested anymore starting in 2005.

Sorry, retaker. IMHO, Course 2 was much more interesting than Course 4. I actually use Course 2 concepts frequently in work and in life. Course 4 is a bunch of formula memorization - it's dumb because if you ever needed the formula in real life, you would look it up and document it anyway. Some of the concepts are okay.

Don't worry about buying a new calculator. In the rare event they ask the ArcSin confidence intervals/bands equations, they will tell you what the specific ArcSin values are. Personally, I ignored the equations too.
