This (http://www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp?neighborhoodid=0&restaurantid=4045) place supposedly has decent chat. Some day maybe I'll visit Manhattan and try it.
Anybody have a favorite kind?

The food tastes like pure love, like only a happy family would prepare for itself at home. In fact, the staff welcomes you feel like kind sweet family. All of the food is simple, yet rich with incredible layers of spice and flavor. Nothing fancy, no pretention, just delicious food. If you appreciate a vibrant healthy meal, that leaves your body tingling with joy, make the journey. You'll be happy you did.
I think that person liked it.
And was on drugs at the time.

Did the person eat it or snort it?

Oh , there si a Dimple Fast Food in NJ( Oak tree rd) . It is the most Yucky place. Believe it or not , we have seen rats in Dimple fast food & Bombay chat in Ediosn,NJ. They were on the floor in the sitting area. I am sure they must be feeding in the kitchen too. Some desi restaurents just have to be banned!!
As a principle, i have stopped going out for eating Indian food, one exception is MOGHUL on Oak Tree,Edison and their branch MOGHUL EXPRESS has good Indo-chinese

Depending on poor hygieneic conditions, any grease joint can be a big no-no. Why pick on a 'desi' one? There are plenty of good Indian owned restaurants if you could only care to look beyond oak tree. I found a good place near princeton. Then there are quite a few other places on Long island, and of course in the City.

Oh yea Bikram..We love the Kalluri Corner, near the priceton University!! This experience in Oak tree was a while ago, but i brought it up bcos the Original post mentioned a Dimple in NY & my experience in the Oak tree one came to mind. With so many Indian food-joints all over NJ(esp rt 27), there is absolutely no reason to just dwell in Oak tree, given it is quite far off now , not to mention finding a parking spot!!

Any time an indian colleague mentions oak tree to me , there is a word that my mind conjures up, 'ghetto' (no racial slur intended)..

if you are willing to go even farther west than princeton, Passage to India in Lawrenceville (the town b/t Princeton and Trenton), on Business Rte. 1, has an awesome weekend buffet. we liked the place so much, we had my baby shower there in the little banquet room. they have chat night once a week, and i hear it's good.

So do you listen to bhangra while you sip on your bhang?
My stomach isn't a big fan of the lactose so I usually do w/o the bhang.

I had no idea what it (bhang) was until this thread. I would love to try it! Just a sip.
As for your question, I'm not likely to me sitting still while the bhangra is playing.

I read about it in the Lonely Planet Guide before I went to India. I love LP- they tell you stuff Fodor's never even thinks about. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, though.

Just pull into any roadside dhaba in any northern state and ask for Bhang. That's anecdotal information. I spent my first 30 years in india and never had a chance to try Bhang. But that's probably just me. Never had a chance (or an inclination) to try Beer either.

Darn. They told me to stay away from food at roadside dhabas if I wanted to avoid serious digestive problems. (I was born and raised in the US- different set of immunities.) It was good advice, though- I ate very well at the hotel, the company cafeteria and the restaurants on our road trip to Jaipur and had only minor rumblings.

At the dhabas, ask for the Bhang, do NOT ask for the food. Even i would think twice before eating at a dhaba. Too soft a constitution, i suppose.
