Scanning the SOA on-line directory, there are at least four members in the first 150 listed in New York who were in one of the two collapsed towers. Out of about 1342 total; I would estimate between 10 and 80 total, plus any students.

Aon Consulting was located on the upper floors (ie 99 and higher) of Two World Trade Center...they had a number of actuaries working there -- we can only hope and pray that they are safe

The Deloitte people are in the World Financial Center, not the WTC - they were in the WTC in the 1993 attack.

"We are all friends of the relatives." In the U.S. we are all probably only one or two handshakes from the victims of this attack. Worldwide, I doubt that most of the world will be more than 3 or 4 handshakes away.

What floor was Risk Enterprise on? He is not an actuary, he is IT guy, he worked on 98th floor, I'm not sure how many floors in WTC MMC had...

Of the actuaries who worked in WTC, 22 are from my company (Aon). They were in tower #2 (South tower), on floors 99 and up.

Could the person who posted about Richard Virgile please add his name to the survivor database (http://wtc.ny.com/). Only 1 other is on the survivor list (which now contains 11,738 entries): Steve McGivney.

Our president will hold a worldwide teleconference at 10:00 central, but Aon has already announced that the "vast majority" of employees are now accounted for.

Some survivor stories are beginning to appear on Aon's Yahoo board; it seems the elevators were the best way out of tower #2.

Starting to wonder what Aon's president meant when he was saying that "vast majority" was safe.

I'm now starting to think that the toll will be heavy. CBS started posting pictures and descriptions of missing persons and a quick search on "Aon" produces 57 matches.

One is a husband to a mother of 3, expecting a 4th. One is 5-month pregnant mother. At least 2 are Senior Executive VPs.

Now, given that,
-not everyone has posted pictures on this newly-put-together site,
-not everyone specifies the company,
casualties could easily reach 100.
