Just a reminder - Exams this session run from October 31 - November 8.

This forum is a great place to get together after exams - HOWEVER -

PLEASE be careful about what you post while the exams are still taking place! To my knowledge, we have not had a security breech in this forum before, and I hope that it never happens. But I will turn over to the SoA the IP address and whatever other information I have about anyone who does breech the security of exams in this forum.

When in doubt - WAIT - until after the 8th.

Just so I'm sure of what you're saying, are we not allowed to talk about exam content, exam questions, etc... until after the 8th?

It's just a reminder to be careful -

I would wait at least 24 hours after an exam to post anything specific to that exam. But some exams have crossover material - for example, you might want to be careful talking about the pension related material until after EA2a is over.

Just use common sense - don't give the SoA any reason to ask me what your IP is.

I definitely agree to wait at least 24 hours to post regarding a specific exam. But how could crossover material be an issue? Are you saying that the way they test some topic on one exam could be relevant to the way they test the same topic on another exam? That seems like a stretch.

to the SoA *nothing* is a stretch.... in previous exam periods they have banned all exam discussions during the entire session. So even if your exam wasn't for another 2 wks, you were stuck.

I think you should officially open discussion of each exam at some time that you feel it is clear to do so.
And you should definitely stop allowing unregistered folks, starting now through Nov 8.

Sorry - I'm not about to make that call.

I have no authority to say what we can talk about and when.

Also - I have an exam on Friday myself - so this is crunch-time for me too. I won't be here much this week.

And registering doesn't do much in the way of identifying since most people register anonymously anyway. But you would be surprised what you can see in an IP look-up.

Just curious, Tracy. What CAN you see in an IP look-up? What will it tell you about us?

Oh - you know - just the basics - full name, home address, your company name, mother's maiden name ...

Alright, then perhaps you could tell posters when you WON'T send IP addresses if they were to discuss exams that had already taken place.
Just a quick note saying: "I won't send your IP address for discussing Course 5, since it's now all over everywhere."

Is that too much trouble? Can't be any more than what you've already posted.

Now about those separate exam threads....

I hope nobody think that you are serious.

Now by looking at my IP address and then cross referencing that with the candidates in my city the society will be able to guess who I am. But if you are in a big city using ISP different from your work place, well SOA might have hard time...

If somebody wants to really screw a sitting register for an exam in New Zealand and then
post the exam, here..

I'd better think about my lists.

For a fleeting moment there, I thought she was serious. Almost had a heart attack....

Well, no problem here, no exams this go around!
