??

yeah for one of the intervals...

i think the other one was like a = 800 or something

yup, y_bar = 1770, x_bar =1200 YX_bar = 2.131M

I believe b = 7000/6667.67

I was an idiot and wrote down y-bar = 1700. I had to recheck the problem 5 times before I realized my mistake.

wasn't that the only interval? I thought they asked for just the calendar year 2005.

??

I got the same result.

wasn't the emergence like 580? I seem to remember that. I also got b=7000/6666.66666

580 sounds familiar. I'm sure if you got b=1.05 and a = 510, then the emergence was calculated correctly.

There is only one interval. I initially thought the question was asking the loss at 36 months but later I realized that it was asking the loss at 24 months.

I didn't look at the problem right the first time and tried to get the 36 month number, then had to scribble and change everything back. I think I got the numbers y'all are mentioning.

I did the same, which cost me about 6 minutes.

I got those. Emergence = 580

argh... brosius was such an easy question... if i didn't get full credit on the questions i thought i had for sure there then i'm in trouble :crying:

hmm... so do you think i'll at least get partial credit if i got the answer at 24 mo and then did an extra step to get it 36? how does that work?

Oh God, I'm such an idiot . . . I got the "a" and "b" right, and then treated "b" like an LDF and said that the emergence was only 70, when of course it's 510+70=580. I just know the graders are passing my answer around and laughing . . .

Not yet, right now the only people looking at it are operating the photocopy machine. Unless Good Will Hunting gave up on being a janitor, it's unlikely that anyone's laughing at you yet.
