Okay, I checked out the database of approved classes and .......
Yea! My school is finally there but wait, oh crap, approved for years 2002 -2007 and guess what I took the class in 2001! :swear: So I wrote the chair of the economics department at my school and he says there have been no changes to 1. the description 2. the syllabus and 3 the deparments outlook on the class. In fact, he says that a student who took it in 2001 "would have essentially the same experience as a student in the class today"
Anyone else experience this? What do I do? I wrote to the SOA asking what I need to do to get the course approved for my year but am guessing they are a little overloaded in paperwork as I have had no reply. Any comments?

this is exactly what happened to me. my class was approved for 2002-2007 and I took it in 1999. I emailed the SOA (vee@soa.org I think) and they replied that all it would take is an email from the department head saying the class has been the same since XXXX and they would ammend the approval date. By the time they replied to me, I had already sent out an application for approval. Here (http://www.soa.org/ccm/cms-service/stream/asset/?asset_id=9214127) is the form I sent in. You need to attach with it the calendar description and syllabus of the class for when you took it. I noted on the application that I was not asking for a new course, just an extension (don't know if it was necessary). Seven weeks later, they told me it was all good.
