Have we talked about this before? How many hours are recommended or what are you planning?

No, i do not think we have talked about this before because i have been considering this thought only since yesterday. Here is a link i came across that might be useful to help us decide or not

Does anyone know what the pass rate ultimately was for the CAS transitional exam given in August?

I remember seeing it, but not where I found it. I'm pretty sure for the Econ and Finance VEE's it was around 55%, and for this one it was around 75%, give or take.

How much are you guys planning on studying for it?

I'm thinking 75%, but have no proof of this. Does anyone have a better idea?

I already have credit for NEAS Regression and am waiting for the Time Series approval. Not sure what to do.

i need credit for Both, so one exam makes sense. But homestly, ia m not sure where to begin & how to go about this.
Would the NEAS modules help in preparation because the website says
The discussion boards and all course materials are available even to candidates who do not register for the on-line courses, such as those taking the CAS transition exams. The discussion boards contain past SOA and CAS exam questions (from the pre-2005 Courses 2 and 4), so that you know what to expect on the February 2006 CAS exams.

in terms of the cas exam, i'd get a study manual. imo, the neas postings are sufficient for the online class which focuses on simple calcs and "intuition" (their wording not mine...I would use the term "concepts").
My 2 cents.
