Anyone have a ballpark figure?

30 correct is in the ballpark. 60% seems to be what is needed for exams 1-4, as fas as I can tell.

From everything that I have seen, the passing score has surprisingly been 6 for every sitting, every exam, at least since I've been taking exams since 1998.

If that's true, what do they need the other 44 questions for????

Are there 50 or 55 questions on Course 2? It doesn't seem to be consistent.

Right after conversion there was atleast one exam with 55 questions, but the last three I believe have had 50 questions.

Contrary to what I was told last time by some on this forum, you better get about 30 right.

I don't know about you retaker, but I always seem to freeze up in exams. So I shoot for a 80% on my practice exams; this way I should get a 60% even if I get a brain freeze. Well, it worked for Course 1 :D

I just finished my third practice exams; ouch. The 2nd sample exam in Actex was very difficult for me. I don't think I got 20% of the Corp Finance, let alone the Macro. I got 32 correct, which on a 55 question exam won't cut it :(

ROE, IRG, BV, guess I have a ton of memorizing to do.

BTW, is EPS always measured only by Retained earnings and not dividends? The Actex answer key twice had EPS = E (r-g)??

:-?

Thanks in advance,

Avi

Don't worry about the Actex sample exams. i am only doing them since I have already done every problem in CSM several times (again this sitting) and almost every problem in the CSM supplement (new this sitting).

I think some of the Actex Finance questions are more concept related than we need. Some problems aren't even from the syllabus, and some concept questions are just hard as crap. Over all I don't think the Actex exams emulate the real exam very well, but they are better than nothing.

you should consider your score to be out of 50 not 55 anyway.

32 out of 50 will pass. But is closer than you probably want to cut it.

Another thing, don't the Actex exams have to may Macro questions?

And they allways follow the same order, the first 8 or so are Macro, them maybe some micro and finance, then a block of old style 140 questions, then back to finance, micro and macro.

There aren't enough micro questions either. No where near enough. YOu would be screwed if you thought the exam was like this.

I don't know what you are talking about for the EPS. This scares me.

What questions did you have trouble with? Let me know. I have done the first 6 Actex sample exams, and have noticed A LOT of errors.
There grading Excel workbook marks quite a few correct answers as incorrect!!

I'm pretty sure that

EPS = Earnings per Share = (dividends+retained ernings)/number of shares

You better check the books tho' lol

Yes, EPS does include dividends.

In general, "earnings" includes (stockholder) dividends.

From the standpoint of a stockholder, it only makes sense this way.

Then can anyone please explain Actex Sample Exam 2 numbers 15, 19, and 29?

Also, 24 should E not D I think.
