I am going to use PD toward credit for exam DP (one of the two FSA-level exams). Do I fill out the FSA Letter of Commitment, even though I am not an ASA yet? I'm asking because the first line of the FSA Letter says:
"I, Lois Lane, candidate for Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries..."

I got a response from the SOA today, the same day I sent the question!
Question:
I am about to submit my PD Initial Plan, and I am not sure which Letter of
Commitment to submit. I have credit for Courses 1 through 4, plus 20 PD
credits from the 2000 conversion. I plan to earn another 30 credits this
year, for a total of 50 credits. I am trying to get credit for exam DP,
which is an FSA-level exam. I am not trying to become an ASA using the PD;
I will be taking the FAP modules and exams instead. Which Letter of
Commitment should I submit: the ASA letter (since I'm not an ASA yet) or
the FSA letter (since I'm trying to earn credit for an FSA-level exam)?
Answer:
Since you are not using your PD units towards Associateship, you can use the FSA Letter of Commitment.
