View Full Version : IMP's BooB
lol, that title might get some response.
IMP's Battle of the Bulge!
Current Weight: !@#$ yeah right, like i'm gonna make that public!
Goal Weight: 120 lbs
My goal in a nutshell is to get healthy. This includes eating well, exercising regularly, keeping a positive attitude on life, and overall, just being responsible and accountable in all aspects of my life.
I've done WW before, and it does work if you stick with it. Once i stopped paying attention to the food I ate and stopped going to the gym...the weight slowly came back on. not all, but enough to notice. So, I know foods that are good and foods that are not so good. It's just a matter of eating the good and not the bad.
As soon as i get over this damn cold, i'll be getting to the gym. for now, i will do more housework and eat properly.
Edit: i obviously was not awake when i posted this and came up with the title...the acronym for battle of the bulge is not boob. oops! too bad, it's staying there!

Good luck IMP! One word of caution... while your goal is a great goal, it can be dangerous to make it so general. I found it easier to attain my goals once I made them more specific. Just a thought, best of luck!
Good luck IMP! One word of caution... while your goal is a great goal, it can be dangerous to make it so general. I found it easier to attain my goals once I made them more specific. Just a thought, best of luck! :tup:thanks, and i know you are correct...i mean, we've all learned from reviews that goals need to be SMART.
so, while what i listed are my long-term overall hopes, my more specific goals are:
average 2 pounds weight loss a week
do cardio at least 3 times a week
do strength training/toning at least 3 times a week
eat at least 4 servings of fruits and vegetables daily
eat at least 2 servings of dairy daily
drink at least 8 ounces of water daily
log my food intake and excercse accomplishments here daily
track my weight progress each week
given that i am sick and on meds, i am not excerising right now. i hope by the weekend, i will. i slept almost all day today. this damn weather...30 degrees two days ago...almost 70 today. :x
breakfast - 2 servings cereal, 1 cup milk. 390c, 7g fa, 3g fi. about 8 WW points
lunch - slept through it
dinner - 2.5 servings broccoli with cheese (frozen g.g.). 150c, 6.25g fa, 2.5g fi. about 3 WW points;
- 2 servings of my soup (see below). 441cal, 4.5g fa, 11.5g fi; about 8.5 WW points
water - easily had 5 cups already (not including water from food)
excercise - none
if i snack later, i'll have fruit and or yogurt. i know i'm down on my f/v and dairy today. prolly will be for the first couple days this week given i am sick and not on a normal schedule...like i said, i slept almost all day.
i made a bean and chicken soup this evening. will have to figure out an approx nutritional count. ingredients: 3 chicken breasts with no skin or bones, approx 1.5 pounds; 1 pkg manischewitz hearty bean soup mix; 1 pkg matzah ball soup (flavor packet only); 1 pkg frozen baby lima beans with sauce (didnt realize the sauce); 1 pkg frozen shoepeg white corn; at least 3 quarts of water.
total content:
corn: 245c, 3.5g fa, 7g fi
lima beans: 250c, 3.75g fa, 12.5g fi
bean pkg: 600c, 2.5g fa, 30g fi
soup pkg: 360c, 4.5g fa, 9g fi (i think this is including the matzah ball mix, not just the soup)
chicken: 750c, 8.5g fa, 0g fi
total: 2205c, 22.75g fa, 58.5g fi
srvg: 220.5c, 2.275g fa, 5.85g fi; about 3.5 WW points (10 servings of roughly 1.5 cups)
(only drawback of this soup is that it is loaded with sodium...almost 1600 per 1.5 cup serving...that's HUGE! target should be max of 2500/day. yikes!!)
just woke up. feel more sick today than before. YUCK! was diffiult falling asleep b/c of the throat and nose. i hate breathing out of my mouth and i had to do so last night.
the soup last night was incredibly filling...so much protein from the chicken and legumes, plus all the water. i wanted a snack b/c of habit, but i didn't have it b/c i wasnt hungry.
i actually prefer eating a balanced meal for dinner...meat, carb, and vege. but i notice i don't stay satisified for long. gonna have to think about what i prepare for dinners in the future. an after dinner snack is fine...yogurt, fruit, ffsf jello, bowl of cereal..things like that. just as long as im not going nuts. but i want to get to the point where once i have dinner...that's it.
a typical square meal would be baked or grilled chicken or fish, basmati rice, and brocolli or green beans. sometimes would have salad first. sometimes would also have bread. gonna take some time and plan some filling, yet light, meals.
off to go make breakfast...i feel more sick today than yesterday...:exams:
breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs w/ 1 tsp lt butter, 1 cup 2% milk, 1 cup Orange/Pineapple juice (while cooking): 420c, 15g fa, 0g fi - 9.5 pts. (more than i'd like, but so be it)
lunch - 1 srvg my soup - 220.5c, 2.275g fa, 5.85g fi - 3.5 points
snack - 1 cup jello pudding with 2% milk - 310c, 5g fa, 0g fi - 6.5 points (not the best snack, but sure helped my throat!!)
dinner -
water - plenty
excercise - none
# f/v - 1
# d - 2

:bighug:
hope you feel better. I know how it is with the weather change and all. When I went home to Atl for Christmas and then back to FL, I immediately got sick. Not as bad as it seems you have it though. Good excuse to lay in bed and od on the Nyquil ;)

I realize that you probably are in no shape to run to the store right now and replace them, but look for sugar-free cough drops. Ricola has a sugar-free line, among others.

Along the lines of the calories in cough dorps - if anyone takes any fiber supplements, they can have lots of calories as well. I use some that are specifically sugar free and they're not bad, but some of them have far more than you would think.
HOW GOES THE BATTLE, BEAUTIFUL IMP ???
health issues have gotten in the way. yes, bad to make excuses. but so be it. hey, at least im not smoking! i haven't gained any weight, i know that.

oh, and definitely stay off the smoking. way more important.it's beyond seasonal unf. and i have been smoke free for like 7 months or so. and b/c of a lot of meds i take, i don't drink much anymore. so, that surely is helping my liver! :toast: ;)

Hope it's nothing too serious, and you get back to full strength soon, IMP.
BTW, I think if you rearrange the letters in your name it says, "A PUSS MIST".
What's the deal with that?
