No matter which poison you choose, I think the time of study required to pass will be about the same. If you like Stats and theory, you'll probably do better with C4.

I think that C3 is easier material to learn, and is much more logically mastered. In C4, I've been finding that many of the formulas are ugly, complicated, and non-intuitive. They also span more disjoint topics.

I passed Exam 3 after several tries. I think that Exam 3 is harder. ( Although, I have not passed Exam 4 yet) There is a lot to memorize for Exam 4. However, once you memorize it and practice, you should pass. However, IMO, Exam 3 requires a greater understanding of the material!! Therefore, you cannot just memorize some formulas or methods and expect to pass. You must truly learn the material. That's my experience. Good Luck !!!

If you're trying to decide which to take first, you've got to start with 3. I think 4 depends on some of the basics of 3, especially regarding the Loss Models text. Other than that, 4 has more brute (sp) memorizing, while 3 is more conceptual.

After memorizing all those ugly meaningless formulas, your brain will be stuffed and none of the formulas click during the exam. So you can study hard for course 4 and fail.
