I bought Mahlers notes but got ASM as well. My colleague passed first time with ASM and so since Mahlers notes come all loose and in a million sections, I thought it would be an easier format if I followed the ASM Manual order of working with Mahler alongside.

Problem is, without studying the material, I can't tell which chapters of Mahlers notes = ASM chapters since they seem to be a little mixed.

Does anyone have info that would be useful so I can organise my notes and devise a study plan?

Perhaps a student could give you more precise information (I don't have Mahler's guides), but I would guess the correspondence would be as follows (using 3rd edition lesson numbers)

Fitting Frequency Distributions <-> lesson 13 specifically, otherwise included in lessons 9-12, 18-22

Classical Credibility <-> Lessons 27-30

Fitting Loss Distributions <-> Lessons 9-12, 18-22

Buhlmann Credibility <-> Lessons 31-32, 37-39 and maybe 40-42

Conjugate Priors <-> Lessons 33-36

Simulation <-> Lessons 45-48

Semiparametric Estimation <-> Lesson 44

Empirical Bayesian Credibility <-> Lesson 43

Survival Analysis <-> Lessons 2-8, 14-17

Interpolation and Smoothing <-> Lessons 23-26
