I started on my last chapter of time series today. I need to finish that and go through all the formulas of regression & time series one time before i can even start the practice exams by sunday , hopefully. The next whole week is dedicated to the practice exams & revision. I know i am in bad shape, but hopefully i should be able to sail through.

Yeah dude. You're in terrible shape. I mean, you've only got like five weeks left to do practice exams! You mightaswell give up now. You'll never make it.

Yeah, dude, or maybe (s)he's taking the CAS transitional exam in two weeks. In either case, good job trying to randomly antagonize people.

Sorry, I didn't realize there was an exam in two weeks. I thought this was another one of those people who writes things like "Oh man! I just got my exam slip in the mail , and I've only been studying for the next exam for three weeks! I'm so behind!"

Well, i will write that after Feb 16th because i will have to start preparing for M for the May sitting after i am done with the VEE. I am losing out on M preparation because of this VEE thing. :shake: :furious:

I'm in the same boat as you, Just will be finishing up Time series, but i'm using the ASM manual, and no book.

What manual are you using? BTW, I also have the CAS corporate finance.

Do you really feel you know the massive number of formulas, I 'm worried coz even when i'm done with the syllabus, i don't know how i will be able to memorize and retain the formulas. Any hints, ideas. We just have 2 weeks you know.

i am using Actex & the text. I could have very well skipped the text bcos Actex is covering almost everything. I am feeling the same way too about the formulas.
Now that i am finishing up with time series, i feel i have forgotten some formulas from regression. The last chapter in time series( forecasting) is horrendous.I fell asleep last night reading those ARI(1,1,0) formulas!
I have dedicated this sat & sun to run thro the formulas of time series & regression. The Actex gives 7 practice exams. I am planning to do one each day beginning Monday. That will leave me some time each day to go back to memorising the formulas & re-doing the problems where i went wrong. Then Monday-Thurs noon will be crunching formulas again.
I am sure you are going thro a lot more with 2 VEE's..EEEEEEEEEESH

Wow, thanks for sharing that.
Now i know i'm not alone. But are you working full time as well. That would be a kiler. I have some time off so i can squeeze as many hours as possible. I just hope its possible to pass. I don't want to regret taking the CAS VEEs.

My worst fear is not passing CAS VEE , and failing M too because i put in 1 1/2 months of M preparation time towards VEE . I am losing sleep with this thought.
:crying:
I know i should have taken this VEE in August, after M in May .

If this is your first time taking M, you may want to know that there are a lot of materials for M & there's just not enough time to study for M in 3 months.

I would agree w/ this statement.

Callou, I'm with you.

I've been studying for this, and sometimes I think I understand things only to come back to it and have to look at it again.

I also might take CAS 3 or SOA M after this, but it will be my second attempt.

I agree it is a lot of material, but you might as well start studying for M and then decide whether to actually sit.

I am in the same exact boat as Calliou. I am taking VEE in Feb & will be sitting for M for the first time in May. I am waiting for the VEE to be over to start with preparations for M all the way. I got done with chapters 3 , 4 & 5 of life before shelving it until mid-feb. I know there are lots of materials, but i will come up with a study plan after VEE . And yes, i share the anxiety of failing both too . Thats the worst to happen .I was also feeling i should have taken this VEE thing in August . I hate myself and those darn formulas . Today has been a totally non-productive day.
