I have 40 credits from the 2000 conversion so I need only 10 credits to complete my PD.

As I am completing my PD initial plan, this thought dawns on me: what would happen if I change job in the next 3-6 months? Do I have to re-file as I probably will have to change my advisor?

Please advise.

Bump

Does anyone know anything about this? Suppose someone turns in their initial plan package, completes some - but not all - of their pd requirements, and then switches jobs. Is there an easy way to continue with the same plan and a new advisor? Certainly this has happened before...

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

I would ASSUME that you would simply need to submit a revised PD plan. This is likely a common enough occurence that the SOA would allow for such a thing, and a revised plan is certainly the easiest way to make necessary changes.

This is answered in the PD FAQ, question #18 - "What if I need to change advisors in the middle of my PD program?" It doesn't sound like you need to refile your plan. Just need to "sign a statement that outlines his/her reasons for requesting the change", have the advisor sign it and then send to the SOA. PD credit already completed will then need to be accepted by the new advisor.
