I have the Mahler M study guides. Does anyone know if I can purchase the Ruin Theory and/or Statistics guides separately?? I'll be taking this in the fall, and am trying to get a head start on study material.

Are you taking SOA M or CAS 3? If you are taking M, you don't need the Ruin Theory and Statistics sections...these topics are only on the CAS exam.

I read (http://www.actuarialoutpost.com/actuarial_discussion_forum/showthread.php?t=76804) that there will be a few changes to the syllabus for M in the Fall.

Mr. Mahler~
Do you expect any changes to the syllabus for Exam 3 this Fall?

I don't expect any changes, but I have been surprised before.
