How do you control binge eating if the food is free? I get free food at my work all the time. Cookies, soda, sandwiches, salad w/creamy dressing, pickles. Do you have a techniques or advice to resist this unlimited, yummy temptation?

I find I have to stay away from the cafeteria when they announce free food. If I'm there, and it's there, it's too tempting.

When we have quarterly meetings and they serve pastries, I come down just a minute before the meeting starts, and bring tea with me. Then it's too late to hit the food table. I get a crappy seat that way, but that's the price, I guess.

If I know we're going to have a company meeting with treats, I bring in something from home. This time I brought in low-fat home-made chocolate chip cookies. It was fairly easy to turn down the sweets offered at the meeting since I knew I had the cookies.

I find that it's easier for me to say no completely than to have one taste. Because one bite turns into half a brownie, turns into the whole brownie, turns into a brownie and a cookie and...you get the idea.

Good ideas, girls. I particularly like bringing in my own snacks. I gotta start having a supply of something around that I won't binge on. Today I ate probably a good 3000 calories in leftovers. It was disgusting but I just couldn't stop.

i stuff myself on that stuff too. I make a note to run more, I guess. i'd do well to back off a little, bc I know it adds up fast.
