OK, course 3 is hard to pass but can the materials in exam 3 be applied to the real pratices in any actuarial job?? :-?

Seriously, how about we start a list of people's favorite real-life applications? The things people use frequently enough to have justified learning it for an exam....might help change the perception that these exams are irrelevant......(or justify it.....)

I'm a PC student, so I figured life cons would have no impact on my life. Turns out, my manager is the Workers Comp reservist, and I may end up dealing with life tables anyway. So I guess you can't write off anything as "never gonna be useful...."

Someone here (in a health company) asked me whether exam three covered aggregate stop loss pricing, as they need to price aggregate stop loss stuff.....there's one application......

Elisha, can you more specific? I sat exam 3 in nov, and hope to learn something useful from exam 3. maybe you can share from your job experience
