Also page down and read any of the other ones which talk about course 4 study guides. There are many.

ASM covers most, if not all of the material fairly well. Additionally it has over 1000 problems with detailed solutions. I reccomend it highly.

I have heard great things about Mahler's notes, which I purchased from NSEA (as opposed to going to the seminar). I never used them since they are quite gigantic and only cover 50% of the syllabus. It came down to a time decision, and since ASM covered all the material I used it.

I bought Actex and used their second manual which has eight practice exams including the SOA smaple exam for part 4 and May and November 2000 exams for Course 4. Those exams are available for online, so in reality I bought the Actex Course 4 pack for five sample exams. I believe that doing these exms helped me, so if you can afford it as a secondary material then go for it. I did not used book 1 of the Actex course 4 pack.

Previoulsy I used How to Pass Course 4. I am a fan of Klein's manuals, but this one is not vey useful in my opinion. It only has 28 "question type" sections. It does not cover Survival Models completely. It makes only a shallow attempt at econometrics. It covers credibilty fairly well. Overall, do not use this manual as anything other than an introduction to the course four topics.

Extreme Person, would you be willing to part with the Mahler notes for some $$$$? Also, how about those ASM guides?
