Half Price Candy!!!!!

I am refusing to go to Target, because I know that the second I walk by that aisle, I'll fall victim to those sweet little Cadbury cream eggs, peeps, or any number of the other things I love about Easter, that don't love me back.

We'll make it through this!!!

Granted I took a little time off of my diet this weekend for a fish fry, but it was worth it, and all of that fatty food really stuck with me. I wasn't even hungry for almost 24 hours after that. I'll be running double time at the gym later today.

Some helpful person has placed a bowl of pastel M&Ms and foil wrapped chocolate bunnies right next to the printer. And thrown in a box of Thin Mints for good measure.

At least the Thin Mints were almost gone the last time I printed something. *sigh*

I was going to say, Thin mints . . . I eat those a sleeve at a time.

I'm going to have to get some Cad Cream Eggs, or I'll just go nuts.

Wow, I hadn't thought of that. Good thing I decided not to run errands on my lunch hour. Seems like the good candy disappears pretty quickly so hopefully there won't be anything tempting left by the time I make it to Walmart or Target later in the week!

Had to go to Wal-Mart at lunchtime. I avoided going down the Easter Candy aisle, but I did end up in line behind a guy who was stocking up. He and the cashier were discussing their favorites. It's everywhere. Tied, I'd guess, with the day after Valentine's Day, and not quite up to the level of the day after Halloween.

There aren't anymore holidays that celebrate Chocolate until Halloween, right? Gee, whiz, I OUGHT to have hit my goal by then . . .

I was candy shopping yesterday afternoon. First store was down to nearly nothing; second store was much better, but I wouldn't call any of what they had the "good stuff".

Of course, we were looking for the "bad stuff", because it was meant for the annual Easter Bunny Nuke, and the point is to bring in the most obnoxious item possible. We got props last year for the hollow chocolate Easter Dinosaur, and knew we couldn't top that. Tragically, the hollow chocolate T. Rex market apparently was not strong enough to justify repeating this year. But we did find a hollow chocolate Nascar racer. Stuffed with 4 peeps and microwaved, it looked like a slow-motion crash test dummy film. Very gory.

Due to the chocolate fountain, we ate (collectively) a lot more good chocolate and a lot less bad chocolate.

Anyway, the point is: yes, the good stuff is probably gone already. Unless you like peeps. (Shudder)

Is it physically possible to like Peeps as an adult? I think once you reach a certain age your body stop producing the Peeps Enjoyment Enzyme. My niece was running around offering blue Peeps to the whole fam yesterday after dinner. Every single child gleefully accepted. Every single adult reacted as if they'd just been offered something so vile and putrid they couldn't imagine anyone deliberately consuming it.

I was a victim! I had to stop at the store to pick up provisions for the office dessert day and as soon as you walk in the store, what's there but buggies full of candy!! The good stuff too! Reese's, M&Ms, Life Savers, Skittles, Whoppers. OY!!! I was a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad girl!
