Go to:
http://www.arabia.com/english/
and check out the poll on their front page. Signs of illness #1: Israel is listed as a possible culprit in the bombings.
Signs of illness #2: vote in the poll and see who was chosen by plurality.

Both sides are blaming the other for the tragedy. What's so illogical about that? Would you think it more reasonable if they blame themselves?!

Both sides are blaming the other? You're kidding, right?
Radical adherence to Islamism confers the lack of rationality that makes over of a third of its adherents seriously think Israel would hijack airplanes with suicide bombers and blow up the WTC and the Pentagon.
I'll bet there are STILL a huge number of Muslims who think that Israel did it, despite the arrests and evidence and phone calls.

They may not be stupid enought to think Israel did it, but they are ignorant enough to take to their graves the belief that it was their fault.

Hmmm... /english now automatically redirects to /arabic. Something tells me they don't want us english-speakers to read it anymore...

and even if you stop it in english, they hid the poll. It was up to 46% blaming Israel.

To me their response is good. Shows they think they act was evil.

Muslims are allowed to have opinions just like with everyone else.
The illness (IMO) is the willingness to lie on a grand scale, managing the presentation of their opinions. Indeed, the Arab and Muslim nations of the Middle East manage the opinions of the population via a controlled press, and assassination of dissidents.
There was an excellent article in The Atlantic Monthly "The Roots of Muslim Rage", that is on target, but the article is at least 20 years old. (some issues do not change rapidly) I may have tossed it.

"There was an excellent article... but the article is at least 20 years old. I may have tossed it."
Oh please say that you did! I like most of your posts. I'd hate to think you are so nerdy you'd still have 20 year old articles!

The poll now shows 34% think Israel is behind the attacks. 27% blame Bin Laden, and 14% other Arab groups.
Wouldn't be surprised if more non-arabs are visiting the site and bumping up the Bin Laden number.

Watching the news of arab-PR folks. Something to the tune of:
"We condemn the action, but you know, the US should really rethink their policies about Israel and Palestine if they don't want this kind of thing to happen again."

Why is it so hard to believe that the Muslims believe it was the Jews? I'm surprised more don't believe as such.
The brainwashing and cultural shaping of reality is enough to have them at war. Surely you wouldn't think that they could see through that.
