So, historically speaking, what has the pass mark been for Course 2? Does 27 correct cut it, or do I get cu once again?

I'm pretty sure last time the cut off was 30.

I agree that the consensus was that the pass mark was 30 last time (in addition, I got 28 and earned a score of 5 which would make sense for being within 10% below a pass mark of 30).

I got 31 this time and guess I'll get to hold my breath again until January.

Actually, make that 32 when considering the answer for 22 should be D, not B (must have been a misprint).

I am not sure of the pass mark from the previous two exams but I can tell you that the 55-question exams given in 2000 were considerably more difficult  than either of the 2001 exams.

I passed Course 2 Nov. 2000 with a 6 and I believe I had 32 correct. Of course there were 55 questions then.

I *think* I got somewhere in the 33-35 range or so. (Once the test was posted, I had already begun to forget some of my answers.) I guess there's nothing to do now but cross our fingers and wait.

I am just wondering what consideration y'all give to the calibre of candidates writing. Do you just assume this to be roughly constant throughout sittings?
I think this is very tought to gauge, especially in the early exams like 1 & 2 when there is no track record of previous exams, experience, anything...some may be testing out the field, others more ambitious.

Everywhere I look, people try to estimate passing marks based on the relative difficulty of the exam compared to past exams with known pass marks. This can't be a useful passtime for courses 1 and 2 at least.

Predicting these pass marks will just give you an ulcer. Enjoy your first full weekend without studying dammit!

Oddly, after two solid months of hard-core studying... it feels weird to have so much free time. As if, because I had been working so hard towards these exams, now that they're over, it feels kinda anticlimactic. Like, "Now What?"

Am I the only one that is feeling like this?

The Nov '00 exam had a pass mark of 30 of 55. As far as I know no-one outside the SOA knows what the pass mark was for May '00. That was the first time that the SOA released exams and not many people kept track of thier answers for that sitting. It did appear that the pass mark was in the low 30's however, from the scant data that was available.

May 00: low 30's / was this out of 55?
Nov 00: 30 / 55
May 01: 30 / 50
Nov 01: _______
