I can't find the swirly logo in the top left. I used it to return to the boards after using private messages or any of the stuff to the right.

Also my colors are all dark once I log in. They only used to be that way until I logged in.

Me, too. I lost my swirly thing and whatever was written below it.

I don't miss the swirly but I do like the colors. Should have registered a long time ago.

How do you go back from ,say, checking private messages or members list. With the swirly thing, I just click on that. Any other way except the back button which takes longer?

About the colors, are you saying if you just register now, you can't edit preference and change colors?

I got rid of the swirly thing yesterday in an effort to conserve bandwidth. You can still click just above the threads where it says "Rebel Outpost Forum Index" for the same effect. If it's a big problem I can always put it back.

FWIW, my ISP called me a few days ago. We are burning up over a gig of traffic every day and increasing (thus my conservation efforts). Pretty huge for a primarily text based discussion forum!

glenn: I don't believe that works if you are in Membership, private messages or anything to the top right.

do we need to restrict the embedded images that people are attaching.. in other words what can we do to help conserve and what is thye problem if it continues to run this hot?

1. Influx of WC.
2. WC's admiration of playthings like embedded images.
3. Certain RF posters taking all these embedded toys as a challenge to one-up these upstarts.

Plus exam discussions increase the number of viewers.

Perhaps I should remove the ability to post images and see if that helps?

I like having the swirly thing gone - although you do have to "back" out of any of the options - but if we do allow advertising, which we will if I ever get off my you-know-what and pull it together, we will need that space to run ads.

I still have, and have always had the swirly phpBB link in the upper left. Was it added back in?

You're right. I'll put something back in again then. Sorry about that.

The embedded images don't come from this server. They are being linked to other websites across the web, so it doesn't effect my traffic. There's nothing that you need to do to conserve; thank you for asking.

And it's a dubious distinction at best. I'm open to suggestions on a new signature line.
And Flora, you're not in trouble from me - I don't police things here. But be aware that every time the hundreds and thousands of times a day that people view this site, that button is getting downloaded from silverscreensirens.com - and that bandwidth costs them money. All they need to do is change the name of the file, and there goes your picture in every post. I'll be surprised if it lasts till the end of the month. It's already happened here once. You might be safer to get permission from them to use their graphic, then save it to a personal website that you can reference instead.

BTW, the ever popular swirly graphic is now replaced, for your backwards clicking pleasure.

Glenn: thnx, now of course I had no special attachment to the swirly thing & if you want to creat a smaller button that would be just as good.

Flora: we want you to be able to keep posting your picture, you're purty.
