I will be taking Exam 5 this spring, and I am trying to determine if a good study manual is available. The CAS lists several websites that sell Exam 5 materials, but I didn't see any study manuals at those sites.
If you know of a decent study manual for Exam 5 and where I might be able to find it, I would really appreciate your help. Thanks!

I'm using the ALL10 manual, which I hear is the best. I bought the CSM and didn't think it's that great. I do like it though because if I don't understand an answer in the ALL10 manual, I can look at CSM to see a different way of solving it. Here's the website for ALL10 (http://www.all10.com). Good luck!

GA-Peach,
Could you let me know where to buy CSM manual for exam 5? I looked up using google.com, just could not come up the right book.
Thanks!

But honestly, All 10 is a better manual.

Thanks!
I order it to double check some answers in All10 manual. There could be some errors in each manual.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I hope I can get my company to pay for the ALL10 manual ($350!), but I may end up with CSM instead.

EraserGuy - if your company won't pay for the manual, you should consider buying it yourself. For the most, I have to buy my study materials and no matter how cheap/frugal/broke I may be, having the best manuals is worth the cost. It may mean you pass the exam this sitting instead of having to spend another 5 months studying again and that's definitely worth $350! Just use your credit card - it's free money, ya know! Hee! :D

I know our company recommends it and keeps several copies on hand as part of our actuarial library. From what I've seen, it's very good and my boss said that his approach to this exam was to skim each paper, then pore over the manuals and work as many problems as possible. I have to agree that $350 is steep but definitely worth the price if the alternative is not passing... :-?
