View Full Version : 4/C before M?

Hey all. So I just completed exam P, and I am planning on taking FM in the fall. As for right now, I am not entirely sure which Society track I want to pursue, so CAS 3 is out of the question for after FM. However, I noticed that 4/C is recognized by both societies.

I am aware that exam M gives credit for exam 3, but with the new changes I would rather not take two exam days to get credit for a seemingly easier and less lengthly exam in the CAS framework.

That being said, would it be wiser for a person in my position to take exam 4/C before M?

Any ideas?

The new syllabus will make Exam C/4 more self-contained than it currently is, so your plan makes sense.

This being said, taking exam M to play safe (even though it's 5 hours vs. 4 hours for 3) is not as bad as you're making it out. In fact, Exam M covers fewer topics than Exam 3. Exam 3 covers almost everything Exam M covers, plus statistics. The difference is that Exam 3 is more superficial regarding life contingencies.

However, as indicated in this post:

it is not yet clear how much cross-crediting there will be.
