You can watch too many episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation in a row. How many weekends have I spent this year watching all 7 seasons on DVD? At least I got a couple of afghans done in the process!
Just thought I'd share.
Anybody else buy the entire series on DVD? Have you watched it all yet?
I remember more Q episodes, but I may be confusing Voyager with TNG. And, I totally forgot that Troi and Worf hooked up in the 7th season!
Anyone going to splurge on DS9? The 7 seasons start rolling out in February.

We have all 7 seasons, but my dh is trying to decide whether to open them or leave them sealed for collector's purposes.
We are buying the DS9 ones too.

I'm tempted, but I think they'd just gather dust. No one else in the family has an interest.
If anything, having the DVDs would keep me from watching the episodes on TNN.

Tempted, but haven't sprung for a DVD player yet, and video is not worth it. My hope is that Voyager will be coming out on DVD after I get my FCAS, and then I can get both with a player and substitute Star Trek vegetation for all that study time!
DS9 I could never warm up to, though.

Tempted, but haven't sprung for a DVD player yet. DVD players were on sale at Walmart the day after Thanksgiving for $38!!

It ain't the money, it's the study time. :D

We have Monty Python series on DVD and are only half-way through. Boy they love to make fun of accountants!
One time I saw all three of the Star Wars movies (Ep. 4-6) in one night. My eyes were royally buggy that night. Same feeling I get when I play video games for too long.

I don't have any of them yet. I would like them, but I can't justify spending that kind of money on DVDs right now.
I didn't even know that all seven seasons were out. I have the first three seasons on my Amazon.com wish list. I guess I need to update the list. BTW, if anyone wants to get me a late Christmas present I'll PM you my wish list link. :wink:

Ah yes (http://www.stone-dead.asn.au/publications/sketches/accountancy.html)
I think that many of the people to whom accountancy appears boring think that all accountants are the same. Nothing could be further from the truth. Some accountants are chartered, but many others are certified.
I am about through the series. Seeing it in chronological order, it's amazing to me how many of the memorable bits were loaded into the first season, and how almost none were in the third or fourth. At the end of the show, you would never have guessed that the best was yet to come.
Considering that I don't watch television, it is somewhat ironic how much of my dvd collection is made up of tv shows. (The Young ones, Fawlty Towers, The prisoner, Get a Life, Mr Show, south park, the outer limits)

I noticed that too! Maybe they were running out of ideas by the later seasons. Some of the sketches were repeated too.
I just got for Christmas South Park Season 1 on DVDs with the bonus audio DVDs. I haven't check it out yet.

I would not be able to watch all 7 seasons of ST:TNG. That is way too much Westley Crusher for me to handle.

Don't the DVDs have an option where you can delete Wes?

Skip season one (unless you like Deanna's cheerleading uniform).
Skip the season with the other doctor.
Be very selective about the final season. the series finale is about the only watchable one. What was with them turning into animals? the Barclay spider just wasn't funny.

I liked DS9. Though the Big Nurse character got annoying. I always expected her to tell Sisco (like she told Billy Bibbit) that he was going to have to tell his mother what he'd done.
Hmmm, the paralels between DS9 and Cuckoos nest are fun:
Quark = Martini
Kai Wynn = Nurse Ratched
Jake = Billy Bibbit
Worf = Chief Broom
Cisco = Psychiatrist
Dax = Murphy

I was rather ambivalent about him when the show was originally on TV, but after watching all of the episodes in the last 6 months or so, I gotta say that he is a really bad actor. And he was only on for 4 seasons or so, plus a few episodes in the later seasons.
And Deanna's outfits were ridiculous. I liked her best, and think she looked the best, when she wore the actual Starfleet uniform.

I didn't mind the cheerleading outfit. As a matter of fact, that should be standard dress for all women. :wink:

Somewhere in an early episode, they tried to justify the cheerleader outfit for Deanna and the women's outfits from the original series by making an offhad remark to the effect that it was "the short uniform" and was an option for all. You could see one or two guys in the background wearing it. Hilarious.

Next Generation is constantly on TNT, wouldn't buy it unless I couldn't see it almost whenever I want.
As for Westley I give some points just for being in "Stand By Me", didn't think he ever did enough to become annoying.

Cleese was gone by the 4th season. That's why that one is sub-par. I find The Golden Age Of Ballooning unwatchable.

Silly Cho Da. Dr. Polaski rules! Bev was worthless. You should stick to BSG. :D
