Anybody else get their confirmation yesterday (or before) for this one? I got mine last night.

I'm going. I received my stuff back from the SOA a couple weeks ago.

I am also going to the McLean, VA APC and staying at the Hilton. Is everyone else staying there or other hotels in the area?

I have been in the Sept FAC thread and just realized that your APC is the day before our FAC begins at the same hotel. If any of you are staying at the hotel Wednesday night, maybe we will run into you (though we may need to be a little more careful in the bar so that we don't accidentally sleep in the next morning)

Congrats on the APC! Hopefully you will be less then three years from ASA to FSA like I will be.

I'm staying at the Hilton. The other hotels were even more expensive (at least the couple I checked to prove to my boss that staying at the Hilton was the best deal).

I faxed in my form on Friday, but haven't gotten confirmation yet. I'm staying downtown cause it's free :-)

I will be the first person in my office to attend the APC since the 1970's. Do I need to bring anything in particular? Specifically, my laptop? I'm trying to avoid taking my laptop through airport security on a trip to DC.

You don't need a laptop.

Why?

With all the extra security measures going on now, I'm trying to make an overnight trip as hassle-free as possible. I think they are extra sensitive on flights into Ronald Reagan airport.

What has changed wrt laptops? I haven't flown since the new restrictions re liquids, nor have I read too much, but what I have read doesn't seem to indicate their is much change for laptops. The only changes I really see are one carry-on (as opposed to one carry-on and one personal item) and no liquids.

Could anyone tell me what I need to prepare before I go to the APC? I heard that there is nothing to read before hand, and it is a 100% pass rate assuming you attend the whole session, is this correct?
Thanks!

I was just wondering what time people are planning on arriving at the hotel on Tuesday, the 5th. I'm coming from southeastern PA, so I only have a 2-3 hour drive. I don't know what time I want to arrive since I don't want to hit bad traffic in DC. I though maybe I would plan on arriving around 3 or 3:30. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks Wat? ! I will set my clock alarms

I plan on arriving the hotel around 8:00 in the evening. I know the traffic may be really bad at that time, but that is what works best for me...

And ask the front desk for a wake-up call. Ask for several if you have to.

Hi, anyone else arrived at the Hilton yet? If so, send me a PM. Thanks.
