Congrats to all who passed! No matter how far ahead you are in the process, every time you pass the feeling is the same rush of blood you had passing Exam 100.

Rock and roll! Subject to the approval of my 5434, I am an EA! Just one exam left for FSA!
I'm a happy camper today.

I passed this and 8R! Not my first attempt on EA2A. This is the only time I have passed two exams post transition.
Congrats to everyone who passed!

:duh: Guess I need to explore 412 and 404 a little further. Congrats to all that passed. Failing is getting kinda tough on the family. My kids don't understand..... :shake:
Any idea on pass rate?
I did how I expected. I passed 2A but not 8R. Just 2B and 8R left now (as well as 10 PD).

Those taking again:
How many times for Ea-2A was this for you? What will you do differently to pass? This was my first time. EA-2B will be my 2nd time in May. I have done the Rick G thing for both. This go around, I think I will get Farber's perspective. Rick was great! I need a new plan!!

It was my 1st attempt - I would have bet the farm that I'd passed. I'll do nothing differently except gain a higher level of mastery.

WW -- I got deja vu all over again from your post. When I took EA-1B the first time (yes, it was a while back) I came out saying oh yeah, 10 easy. Then I got a 5. The second time, I studied super hard and was sure I aced it, and managed a 6. That intimidated the heck out of me and it took me a while to really attack EA-2 just because I was convinced that I would never pass. A lot of that EA-1B material moved over to EA-2A in transition (so this was my third time on a lot of this material, lucky me).
As you know, it's just practice practice practice getting smooth and fast for these exams, and for EA-2A in particular.
Dora -- for EA-2B, get Farber's 170 or 200 or whatever problems. Do them all. Do them again, and mark which ones you get wrong. Do those again. Do them again and again and again. Get all of the EA-2 exams back to something like 1993 and do all the 2B problems. Mark the ones you get wrong and do them again and again and again. Skip problems that are obsolete (e.g. 415(e) stuff). The best indicator of passing is time spent doing problems. I liked Rick G's outline as a reference, but mostly went back to it when I hit a problem that I wasn't sure how to do. When the exam comes, they'll include a problem that you've never seen before. Take your best shot and move on. If you're smooth and fast on the rest of the problems. the new problems will not throw you too much.
I would not spend a lot of time reading regs / notices / rev rulings etc. You'll learn more doing problems. Other people may have a different opinion on that one. I spent 90% of my study time on both this go-around and last spring on EA-2B doing problems.
I never did a seminar for the EA material. I might have gotten through faster if I had, per my note to WW.
Good luck.

Maybe if you'd stop exploring Viking Territory and do some studying it would not take ya 25 attempts to pass :D
You'll do it next time petal..stiff upper lip 'n' all that.

The comment above was supposed to be a funny sarcastic comment to my friend Dora the Explorer....just thought I'd explain before I get bombarded with abuse for sending general insults.

Heeee Heeee...... Celtic Chick! You are toooo funny!
To ANYONE:
I got a "5". Any chance the 'exam' fairy will grant another question?? I read on another thread that after a defective question, 11 were passed last summer. Anyone know how they handled the $1,740,00 asset problem??
Asset Problem
Don't know yet, but we will when they send the exams back in a couple of months. Should be early March, or so.
