I was in marching band my freshman year. Then decided I liked choir better, and I couldn't do both.

Come visit on a Saturday afternoon and I'll introduce you to the legendary Newt Bowers. Of course, you'd have to play bridge for 3 hrs as well. If we sit E/W you may just get a top board off him.

Bulldog here - a long time ago - I can still hear Dr. Bowers coughing through his lectures, and I remember Dr. Adams' "Lotus - the software, not the position" speech, given while sitting in the Lotus position on the desks...

" can still hear Dr. Bowers coughing through his lectures," .... and saying "process okay?" and doing cube- and quad-roots in his head.....

The subtitle needs to be edited. Klugman retired last year.

so sad. And I didn't get to go to the retirement party. Stupid exams. They really should have known better than to schedule that during exam season...

I remember reading "Struck by Lightning" the summer before his Stats 131 class, which was unfortunate for him, because most of the trick questions came out of that book. People thought I was a genius for a semester when I could explain variable change in the Monte Hall problem on day 1.

Bringing this back a little...class of 2011 here. I only had Prof Klugman for Stat 132/Stat 141, but thoroughly enjoyed how he would criticize his own book throughout class

You had Stat132/Stat141 with Klugman and graduated in 2011? I only had him for Stat131 and graduated in 2010 with Parsa for 132/141.

Yep - I took them my first year (had Calc III and Stat 131 done during high school) to be able to take them with Klugman. I figured, if the guy wrote the book, I should try to take them with him.
