I was reading through Clark's paper and got very confused by the section on pricing Casualty treaties exposure rating. So I went to the All10 manual, and saw their explanation of the procedure: "review pages 26 through 29" in the paper. Huh??
So I went to the next section and saw their explanation "review pages 32 through 40" ????
So basically they chickened out of pages 26 - 40.
This paper's been on the syllabus since 1997 (nearly 10 years) - and no explanation?
:-(

Is there anyone who explains these?
Have there been any exam problems on these? (i.e. does the CAS expect us to understand what All10 couldn't (wouldn't)

I see by quick look they do (e.g. '99 #37 asked about swing rated. )

That just says read the papers too and don't just rely exclusively on All10

I don't see any explanation on these topics in the All10. The only things shown is they copied over the formula for the exposure factor for Umbrella policies.
But nothing about Exposure Rating Casualty Treaties, or anything else (e.g. Annual Aggregate Deductibles, Swing Rated Policies) on those pages (26-40).

yeah, and the 2005 Clark question was from that glossed-over section. Doh!

Disappointing that they don't go over the umbrella thing in detail.

Yeah, can anyone here who understands this part give a more clear explanation about the umbrella policies as well as the aggregate distribution part? That will be much appreciated.
