"She Moved Through the Fair"
Trad. Irish song (posted for the WC Chicks)

My young love said to me,
"My mother won't mind,
and my father won't slight you
for your like of kind."
And she stepped up beside me
and this she did say,
"Twill not be long love
til our wedding day."

And she stepped away from me
and she moved through the fair.
Slowly I watched her
move here and move there.
She went her way softly,
with one star awake,
as the swan in the evening
moved over the lake.

I dreamt it last night that
my young love came in.
So softly she entered that
her feet made no din.
She came up beside me
and this she did say,
"Twill not be long love
til our wedding day."

More lyrics from Eire, again posted for those sweet sweet chicks. Can you guess the singer?

"Sweet Thing"

And I will stroll the merry way
And jump the hedges first
And I will drink the clear
Clean water for to quench my thirst.
And I shall watch the ferry-boats
And they'll get high
On a bluer ocean
Against tomorrow's sky
And I will never grow so old again
And I will walk and talk
In gardens all wet with rain.

Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
My, my, my, my, my sweet thing

And I shall drive my chariot
Down your streets and cry
'Hey, it's me, I'm dynamite
And I don't know why'
And you shall take me strongly
In your arms again
And I will not remember
That I even felt the pain.
We shall walk and talk
In gardens all misty and wet with rain
And I will never, never, never
Grow so old again.

Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
My, my, my, my, my sweet thing

And I will raise my hand up
Into the night time sky
And count the stars
That's shining in your eye
Just to dig it all and not to wonder
That's just fine
And I'll be satisfied
Not to read in between the lines
And I will walk and talk
In gardens all wet with rain
And I will never, ever, ever, ever
Grow so old again.

Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
Sugar-baby with your champagne eyes
And your saint-like smile....

They lived in the 1600s and 1700s. My grandmother's hobby was genealogy and she has my family tree done back 20 generations or so. It is very interesting.

Well, I left early on Friday and it seems I missed a few things.

First, congratulations Pillow and good luck on snagging a main squeeze - or have fun playing the field!

BTW, how did you do it so fast? (perhaps Elmo should answer this). It took me months what you did in weeks! You didn't cheat, did you?

Second, Franchise thanks for the shamrock shake although I decided not to drink it because it appears to have curdled! Oh well, it's the thought......

But not to worry, Mr. Nomial and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. I opted for a green margarita over the green beer!

well all you have to do is send a portfolio of your best pictures to natureboy@flairmail.com, along with a 100-word letter of intention. warning: the pictures will not be returned to you.

the space mountain admission committee (smac) will then deliberate and you should get an answer shortly. here at space mountain, we believe that sharing is lots of fun (it's up there with giving and receiving) so all members are encouraged to have main squeezes and a normal life outside of space mountain. space mountain provides the relief, the thrill and the excitement when life with main squeeze becomes a bit boring. our mission is to keep the hot chicks happy!

Doesn't loss of consortium require that first there be some consortium to lose?

Therefore, I maintain that there was indeed some consortium, but due to the negligent delay of my chick membership by the chick pledge committee, Gandalf did eventually lose consortium for the duration of said delay.

Polly,

My attorney has suggested that you and I edit all our posts from last week into nothingness.

It seems that elmo's attorney is now asserting that we "made up for lost time" after your acceptance, and that at most I could qualify for an interest adjustment.

Next he'll probably claim that you can adjust my interest just fine.

bertuary,

I really enjoyed you doing those jumping splits over me while I laid on stage. All I have to say is forget Jessie's girl. :D

Very interesting. Perhaps the erstwhile Mr. Springfield would be interested in escorting the fine bertuary to the Bikini Bash?

What do you say Ricky? ;)

RickSpringfield: What were you doing laying down while I was doing my cheer? It's supposed to get people on their feet, not the other way around!

Franchise, it would be a great honor to escort bertuary to the Bikini Bash, however I was hoping to entice the entire group. ;)

"Seems all the good girls are home in bed
We're gonna party to raise the dead
I'm gonna love that girl right out of my head
Baby don't wanna feel this pain anymore
I've got a message, put it through emergency
I wanna see it on the video tonight

Calling all girls, If you're looking for love
Calling all girls, If you're looking for a hot time
Calling all girls, If you're looking for fun
Calling all girls, If you're looking for a good time tonight"

So Rick, is it a date then? We'll have a great time. And don't worry about escorting just me, us Chicks like to share!

bertuary,

All I have to say is:

I get excited
Just thinkin' what you might be like
I get excited
There's heaven in your eyes tonight
The fire's ignited down below
It's burning bright
Oh baby, stay, we got all night, all night
Baby please, I can't please
If I'm on my knees tonight

All night? you sound like my kind of guy. you're not a demon, are you?

What a great way to start the week!

I'm pretty sure Rick Springfield had a memorable role in a TV movie as a vampire cop who only worked the night shift. :bat:
(later turned into a low-budget series w/o Mr. Springfield)

Why he wasn't nominated for an Emmy I'll never understand. :D

Personally, I don't follow that logic at all. ;)

Good morning Chicks & others!

Looking forward to the Bikini Bash. I'll be the one with the video camera sitting poolside, margarita in hand.
