Hi, everyone,
I have posted 21 chapters of my study guide for the 8M syllabus for *FREE* on this forum. Simply click on "Free Downloads" at the top left of this web page, and find "8M Syllabuster sample".
The chapters I have included are:
Group Insurance, Ch. 28 and 38;
Kongstvedt, Managed Health Care Handbook, Ch. 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 29, 30, 37, and 38;
McKay, Flexible Benefits, Ch. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 15;
Study notes 8GM-101, 206, 207, 209, and 302.
This study guide uses full sentences and phrases. There are no fragments that force you to refer to a textbook to figure them out. Each concept is described in plain English, and I have included simply-worded introductions and definitions for each concept.
The 8M SyllaBUSTER is meant as a replacement for the Course 8M textbooks and study notes; not as a supplement. I have reorganized the topics within a chapter, where necessary, and, where several chapters deal with similar or overlapping topics, I have combined those chapters into a complete, non-redundant document. Again, there has been no loss of material; just a useful reorganization of it into a format that will be useful on this written answer exam.
I sincerely hope (and expect that) this study guide will make understanding the material much, much easier. I am very interested to hear your comments and criticisms about this study guide. Please post your comments here, or email me at psugar@tiaa-cref.org.
I have nearly completed several more chapter notes as well, and I will post some more valuable ones on this forum as soon as I can.
Good luck!
-Phil
