I studied actively for 8IU, but circumstances came up that made me decide skipping 8IU this fall would be in my best interests. I might have something coming up in May 2007 that might also prevent me from taking the ILA CSP exam, but just in case, I'd like to prepare myself for it and get myself into the mindset that I'll be taking the exam.

Who's to say you can start before May? The CSP syllabus isn't officially being released until the day before the November sitting, with only a little bit being released 2 weeks before. If they do the same with the DP syllabus you could probably start at the same time regardless of whether you sit for a May exam or not (considering you may have to wait for textbooks/SNs to arrive via mail).
I'm in for the Canadian version. Ordered the books yesterday. I'm hoping that FAP modules 7 and 8 take about as long as 6 did, then I should have some time to study before the end of the year.
Ordered the books yesterday.
Where'd you order from? Actuarial Bookstore? Actex? Amazon?

"Fertile Ground" bookstore in Toronto (used to be Evans Bookstore). They are really fast. I ordered them yesterday and they came today (though I'm only about 1 hour from downtown Toronto).

Ok. So, you didn't want to wait for any word on whether some of those texts would become study notes?

So you plan on study the text books w/o manuals? Seems it will be more efficient for me to study with the manual.
For those of you who have studied for 8I, do you think I could use the same Actex manual for this CSP? Thank you so much!!

I plan to get started this way anyway. I'm not sure how quickly the study guide companies will be able to get guides published for this exam and I'm not going to wait for them.
To be honest, I bought the books right away just so I'm prepared when I decide to start studying. I probably won't actually start for a little while since I'm still working on the FAP modules.

1) I usually read through all the texts once before I crack open the manual. I do this at a leisurely pace, just to get a feel for the syllabus. For Course 5 & 6, I would also make my own outline (despite there being one in JAM/Actex/BPP, all of which I had for Courses 5 & 6) as I read through the first time.
I'll also do a first read-through this time - and I'll start with the books I already have from 8I. I'll read through some of the old stuff and read the chapters that are new to CSP.
2) I'm going to try and use it for the books that transfer over. No word yet about the study notes, so we'll see how much of it applies.

Thanks wat? !
Most of the time I read the text books and manuals together, and write down whatever I consider important (but not included in the manuals) on the manuals. I am not that good in summarizing, so I need to depend on the manuals. Also, I think the manuals tell me the reading order of the books.
Maybe I can try to read on my own this time for a while. So which book should I start with? Same order as SOA's list? Thanks a lot!!

You probably have the Life Insurance Products & Finance book from Course 5 (and Course 8, if you've studied for it), so I'd say that's a good place to start. The reading is pretty easy to get through (relatively, compared to other parts of the syllabus), and the material was somewhat interesting to me. These are the exact chapters that were part of the 8IU syllabus, though - so it'll be a repeat if you've read them.
I have the books from C8IU, so I'll be studying from those first - LIPF, then VLIL, then GAAP, then Reinsurance note.

Great! LIPF is what I guess I may start with! Since meanwhile I am studying for course 7 seminar (slowly), it may take me more than 1 month to finish the 3 chapters. Hopefully by then I will get a manual :)
Thanks a lot, wat? !!
As has been mentioned in other threads, Actex is now showing study guides for the CSP exams. For the ILA track they have a bunch of items that have release dates in early December through mid-January. There seem to be guides from Actex and ACE.

I didn't think ACE had been around prior to 2007 - it wasn't a choice for the 8IU exam. Conversely, I don't see "A Student's Guide" available, but that was sold through Actuarial Bookstore, which has yet to be updated for the new exams.
Actex manuals were ok for 5 & 6 - I used them marginally, and mostly for the problems rather than the outline. It was looking pretty decent for 8, but I wasn't able to really get into it and get the memorizing-type stuff down.
FYI, don't commit to a manual just yet - I've heard word that there might be a very good manual coming out that hasn't quite been announced yet. I think more information will be available in a few weeks.

I'm not sure I can say quite yet. But since most manuals won't be ready until January, the information on the new manual should be out well before then.

Wat? I really don't know why this should be a secret. One would think that the manual writer would want the maximum possible exposure so students can buy it when it comes out. Some of us are in the process of pre-ordering manuals hence being able to evaluate this manual would be a great help. What's wrong with being able to say watch out for XXX manual coming out in january?

There is no case study so far for this CSP, am I right?
The catalog's been released, but it doesn't appear anything's set in stone.
[edit] If any of you saw that I wrote that there are more notes on the syllabus, please disregard if you're taking the US CSP. Those are applicable only for the Canada CSP.
So, any progress, anyone?
I've read through about half of the first chapter in Real Options.

In the spirit of Christmas - how's the studying going?
Not great. I'm still trying to polish off as much FAP stuff as I can before Christmas but the constant delays are really messing with the study schedules. I likely won't pick up CSP material until after the new year.
I'm really hoping that working in individual life valuation will help me out with this exam!
Sounds like I'm in the same boat as you mjb. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one waiting until after the first of the year to get started. I'm also trying to work on the FAP as much as possible before the end of the year.
I've posted this in another thread, but I've revised this one a little - there are two separate column for "Pages Read" and "Pages Outlined" in this one.
I've also marked the readings that those of you that have studied for 8IU in 2006 will have already read (and maybe outlined). It totals up to a little over 1,000 pages.
So, good luck to all of you!

Would there be any interest if we were to create an iPod version (m4v movies) of the flash cards needed for ILA?
Would there be any interest if we were to create an iPod version (m4v movies) of the flash cards needed for ILA?
I'm guessing this would require an iPod video to handle?
On another note, how difficult would it be to create audio files based on flashcards? I thoroughly enjoyed the JAM audio files for both Course 5 and Course 6 - it enabled me to study for about an hour a day while I was stuck in traffic.

Yes an iPod would be needed.
Obviously anyone can create an audio version by just recording themselves. :) Anyway, I would need someone to create the flashcards of all the important lists for this exam and I can turn them into video or audio files. PM me if you want to be that person.
Yes an iPod would be needed.
Are other versions sufficient (original iPod, iPod mini, iPod nano)? Or do they need to have the capabilities of the iPod Video? I've got the 2GB Nano, so I was just wondering.

To play m4v files, you would need one of the video iPods. For those without one, we might be able to work out a rental program in which we lend you a video iPod for a few months pre-loaded with the flashcards. We'll see what the demand for this new medium is.

I recently decided to take this exam, since I was getting nowhere fast (slow, actually) with my PD project. I passed 8I in Fall 2003 and did Course 7 in 2004, so it's been awhile since I've been in exam mode.
I've started with the materials I already had from 8I. I was actually surprised at how much of the syllabus I had read or skimmed, either from 8I or from work-related projects. So I'm feeling a little cautiously optimistic, given that it's already January and I feel like I should have started studying 2 months ago.

Ditto to WOWer's pleasantry.
8IU does overlap significantly with the current CSP syllabus - as it stands, 8IU material counts for a little over 1,000 pages of the CSP ILA syllabus (and 8IU will probably be 1,700-1,800 pages when all is said and done). So, you've certainly got a head start with the material.
So far, I did finish the first chapter of Real Options and read a bunch of the ASOPs in the Published References. It's taking me a little longer since I'm generating my own outline.
Anyone else out there taking the Canadian version of this exam? If I have questions about the Canadian-specific content it would be nice to know if I could post them here.

The SOA didn't bold it or space it out, so it looks like a continuation of the "Life Insurance Products and Finance" book.

FYI, in case you didn't catch it, the same goes for the Lombardi text, Valuation of Life Insurance Liabilities for the US syllabus - it appears under the GAAP text listing, unbolded.

Okay, I got my study note package (minus one note that will be sent later) and I've added the pages to my spreadsheet. I total a little more than 2100 pages the Canadian version. From the numbers I've seen qutoed around here, this is quite a bit more reading than Course 8 had (~1800 pages).

Take a look at Wat?'s Excel file. That is a pretty good suggested order. The Products and Finance book is fairly easy to read. The Valuation book is a good bit harder. I jumped down to the online study notes. They seem more manageable.
This is my first essay exam. I am unsure what to expect from a manual. Is it mainly outlines and lists to memorize? My goal is to get through the material and then worry about remembering things.

Life Insurance - Products and Finance is absolutely a good place to start. I've never heard anyone complain about having problems with reading from that book. Relatively speaking, it's very reader-friendly and illustrates topics well. It's a surprisingly fast read - you'll probably read that text faster (~250 pages) than you would Real Options (~200 pages) or Valuation of Life Insurance Liabilities (~170 pages).
After that, it's up to you. IMO, the GAAP text is the hardest to read through and comprehend, so plan accordingly. Aside from that - good luck!

AppleApple - I have not seen the manual yet -- I would think it should be some concepts and mostly lists..I ordered the ACE one. Wat - thanks for the textbook pages breakdown...Do we know how difficult this is going to be compared to the previous Course 8.. is this more concepts and less memorizing? I have heard they have taken a lot out of 8, but also put in significant new material....
Wat - thanks for the textbook pages breakdown...Do we know how difficult this is going to be compared to the previous Course 8.. is this more concepts and less memorizing? I have heard they have taken a lot out of 8, but also put in significant new material....
If you consider Exams DP & CSP in aggregate compared to Course 8, I don't think they'll take out any information, but they put in a lot of information on nation-specific practice (more GAAP, more US Tax Reserves, etc) and added more readings on ERM and general business risk.
But I know we're not considering the exams in aggregate. As far as CSP goes, it looks like it'll be more reading than Course 8. And IMO, this exam will be a little harder. Course 8 had a significant amount of marketing topics on the exam - that was the easy part of studying for the exam. When you get to read a LOMA book for an actuarial exam, you know it's going to be a little easier.
I am still planning on doing a bit of memorizing via flashcards, but I'll make it a point to focus more on the understanding of the topics that I'm memorizing and having the ability to expound more on each topic.

By "Prod", do you mean "Life Insurance, Products & Finance" (the big black book)? If so, you'll probbaly need no more than a week or so to get through it. It's a lot of reading (~250-300 pages), but most of the reading is pretty much an easy read. You might want to allocate a week from the GAAP text to the study notes, simply because of the amount of reading to be done in the study notes. But that could just be my opinion.
I think you'll be okay with less time on the Products book, though.

I've finished the first read through of everything except the ACE manuals. I have about 30 pages left in the "first" ACE manual (everything but the SN's) and then I'll dig into the SN ACE manual.
I haven't worked any problems yet, and I still don't think that a lot is sticking. After I get the ACE manuals out of the way, I'm going to slow down my reading pace dramatically and do a thorough re-reading (and work problems) along with the ACE manuals flashcards.
The quantity is pretty overwhelming, IMO. We'll see if my brain starts sponging the information up the 3rd time I see it.

Great post, SP's daddy.
I'm guessing this isn't your first essay exam, so you know what it's like for things not to stick when we've still got a couple months left.
Absolutely nothing's sticking with me thus far, but a lot more stuff in that Valuation text makes sense the 2nd time around.
So, no updates for about 2 1/2 weeks - where's everyone at?
I've re-read through the Valuation book, read first half of Reinsurance, read the Published references, and continuing in the Study Notes & Reinsurance text. I'm not looking forward to the GAAP text. :(
I'm behind. I'm maybe 60% of the way through my first reading. I underestimated the difficulty of some of the material so the reading is taking longer than expected. I just got my Actex manual today so I may start looking at that to review some of the readings I did earlier.
This is my first essay exam so I'm glad to hear things don't generally stick the first time through, because they certainly aren't for me!
I'm about 15 SN's away from completing my first read through. When reading the material I always have my Actex open to 'fill in the blanks' so it takes me awhile longer, but it is extremely important in my mind. I found the Actex in parts over-summarized the material and lacked an overview in some sections. I think if I were to read the material without making notes, I'd be lost when trying to to cram in the Actex later on.
My plan is to hopefully get my volume 2 of Actex this week and complete the 15 notes before March 11. Then it's two months of memorizing and hopefully getting through reading the Actex manuals 6-7 times.
For you ACE'ers, are the practice questions any good? I'm thinking of picking up that manual and cards too.
Thanks.

It sounds like you're in great shape UWWF. You're on a very good pace.
I had to get a jump on studying since I know that it will take me a few times through the material for me to have a chance at passing. So, I started before the ACE manual was available. I'm just finishing up my manual read, so that's basically two quick times through the material. Now, it's on to the "read for understanding" pass for me. It may not be the most efficient way to attack this, but I think it's what I'll need to have a shot at passing.
There aren't many sample questions in the ACE manual. I had expected more (not a lot more, but more). I can't comment on the difficulty as I haven't done any of them yet. How about Actex? What do you think about the quantity/quality of the practice questions?

want to ask a quick question here. I have been using the old edition of GAAP book and actuarial valuation book for preliminary reading. Based on the table of contents of the new version of the books, it looks like there are more pages of reading and more chapters. Wonder if the new version is somewhat different from the old version of text in terms of contents. Thanks!

I thought the chapters were significantly different, but my memory is definitely questionable with regards to that.
I am pretty sure, however, that the new GAAP text incorporated the new Statement of Position (SOP) related to secondary guarantees.

I had a similar question about the reinsurance book - much difference between the 2nd and 3rd editions?
:bump: for updates to everyone's study progress.
I've still got 3 chapters from GAAP, 2 chapters from Real Options and about half the study notes left. I'd like to be done in a couple weeks, but with the GAAP text - :shake:
Also, outstanding questions for the CSP ILA group:
1) Differences between GAAP editions
2) Differences between LH&A Reinsurance editions

Update: I have a serious, serious problem with motivation.
Finished the reading! Here comes two months of memorization!
On the Canadian side, how did others find having a majority of the Canadian specific material come from seminar presentations? I at first thought it was horrible, but once I got into it, I felt it to be quite good. However, I'm not sure how they go testing that material...

Ditto. I really need to pick up the pace if I'm going to have any shot at this.

So far I've liked it okay. It is very clear who the good speakers are when you are reading transcripts. Some people are much easier to read than others. I also find the seminars give much more practical information than the academic readings. I found the readings on fair value accounting and international standards very interesting.
That said, I'm also unsure how they will test the material.
Update: I have a serious, serious problem with motivation.
 Looks like everyone else does, too. So, really - you're ahead of the game for admitting it.
As far as GAAP goes, I'm very thankful they decided to add Chapters 1 & 2 to the syllabus. Sure, it's additional reading, but those two chapters cleared up a lot of the confusion I was having as far as trying to tell the SFAS's from one another. Already I discovered that I had absolutely no idea what I was memorizing for 8IU because what I thought "Holding, Available for Sale and Trading" meant back then is entirely different from what it actually refers to.
I came in late, but I'm doing okay so far. I find the study manual makes a lot more sense without the text for that big picture feel. I will be done with the texts by Monday and I suspect that the study notes will move fast since the manual only takes half the space for them as it does for the texts. And McCoy says that Val Life Liabilities and GAAP is the "greek" portion of the material. Do really wish I had essay questions to practice on; hope the seminar will give that kind of last-month practice advice.
I wish I could say I was starting to memorize, and while I look at the cards for about 1.5 hours a day, I'm not really memorizing per se.
I had a similar question about the reinsurance book - much difference between the 2nd and 3rd editions?
From the preface and the front page of the text, it looks like the 2nd edition was written back in 1995 and the 3rd edition was updated in late 2005. The author noted that there were a lot of changes made in the insurance industry as a whole (most notably, the improvement of technology and innovation over those 10 years) to warrant a significant revision of the text.

My pace and motivation have both basically bottomed out.
I'm only about 20% through my "thorough" read-through. It's going very slowly. But, some of the concepts are becoming clearer. I haven't spent any time actually memorizing note cards yet since it's taking quite a bit of time just to do the thorough reading and problems. I plan to start working on the memorizing this weekend and spend at least on hour a day just on that.
I've also got to get motivated to turn off the NCAA tourney or the NBA games and spend the time that I need to get through this final reading. I'm a sports junkie, and this is not the time to get distracted.
We've got two months until the exam. A lot of progress can be made in two months.

Ugh. I have 36 SN's left, plus most of the GAAP book and Reinsurance book. I have read some of that material before, but still. Daunting. I have all that left to read, plus try to make sense of what I've already read. :wall:
My time tracker tells me we've got 6 weeks left before Exam CSP. (It also tells me that my study hours are pretty low, but that's another story.)
How's everyone doing? Still trying to get through the last handful of SN's and last few chapters of GAAP and will try and review all that information, but it's looking more and more like I won't be taking this exam - too much information, not enough time (again).
I'm actually doing alright. I'm hoping to finish up my non-numerical problem memorization this weekend, and then work on the numerical problems for a week or two. At that point I should be somewhat in exam condition (i.e. I could take it and conceivably pass if things fell my way), so I'll then spend the remaining month rereading the ACE study note over and over, filling in the cracks.

With about six weeks left I think I'm okay too. I have around 500 cards(Actex +my own) and have about a third memorized so far. Material is making sense, but I must say the Canadian Tax book is quite detailed. Did anyone else read the "For Background Only" chapters of the Canadian Tax book?
Sounds like you're in great shape.Sounds like it, but alas, it's not quite true. I don't think I know enough of the details... I know a little bit about pretty much every topic so I'll be able to say the basics and fill in some relevant info, but at this point I couldn't handle any of the curveballs they throw our way. And I'm sure there'll be plenty of 'em.

Yup, flash cards... made my own, about 350 of 'em. It doesn't sound like much, but they're the larger-sized notecards and I fill some of them up with pretty small writing. My goal (like every other exam I've somehow passed) is to have them memorized almost word for word. Why learn when you can regurgitate?
Hey, is anyone memorizing those tax reserves 807(c)(1) - 807(c)(6) things? Should I be memorizing them? I guess I should... bah. Back to my hole.

Bruce, you mentioned in another thread that CSP-ILA is the only exam you are "intimately familiar" with. Bruce,
That's a huge responsibility (based on quantity and difficulty of the content).
With regard to volume of material, how does CSP-ILA stack up to the old 8I syllabus? I'm probably being lazy, as I haven't searched the forum for threads on this before asking.
My impression, not sure how I came about this impression, was that there is a greater amount of material on CSP-ILA.

Each of the ILA exams is roughly comparable to the old Course 8 exams. You can find voluminous discussions about this on countless threads.
Bruce
Someone else must have asked this somewhere, but I couldn't find it in any of the CSP forums...
Any thoughts on when results will be released? I see the catalog says "8 to 10 weeks after the exam," and 10 weeks would be 7/20/2007... and seeing that 8I's results came out on 1/19/2007, that makes sense. But, that 1/19/2007 was 11 weeks + 1 day since the 8I exam, so are they really moving the release date up? And does the cryptic 8 to 10 weeks mean we might actually get results early, if they're available? I've always assumed the scores are ready significantly in advance of results day and are kept under lock and key.
Not that it's a big deal... results are available when they're available, but it's still interesting to think about. I was making my DP study schedule and I don't like to start studying until I have results for the previous exam, so I was wondering what day to kick things off.

I was ok with the exam, but I have no idea how well I did since it's so subjective. The morning session went better than the afternoon for me (where I easily gave up 20 pts). I was a bit peeved at the question that wanted you to prepare income statements for policy years 0, 1 and 2. I don't think I've ever come across "policy year ZERO" before.

I hear ya, 100%. I can't figure out why they break down some questions on a point-by-point basis but don't for others. It's like they want us to not only know the material, but know how much time we should spend discussing each piece of it!

I think the idea is that if there is no point breakdown, you are to assume that each part is worth about the same (so they only break it down if some parts are worth significantly more than others)

The question on Risk Cap Balance Sheet did not have a breakdown of points. There were 2 parts to the question. One was to fill in the blanks in the Risk Capital Balance Sheet, and part b was to describe the 3 distinguishing features of Principal Financial Companies.... I would have thought that part b would have much less points??

I don't think we're supposed to assume the different parts to questions have equal weight when a point breakdown isn't given. In those cases, your point total will be based on how you answer the question as a whole. The scoring rubrick (or however's that's spelled) may have 30 points possible for part A, 70 points for part B, and maybe getting 65 of the 100 points gets you a 10. So although we don't know the rubrick has 30 and 70 points, it doesn't matter, all that matters is that hopefully what you say combines for 65 pts. out of the 100. Even if it's all from the 70 pt. part and you don't say bukkake about the 30 pt. part.

 I missed Bruce's post.
Although, I still think the points are pooled and my example stands, except the 30/70 weight should be more like 45/55.
My understanding is that say you have a 10 pt question with 2 parts, and the model solution for part A totals up to 30 pts and the model soln for B totals up to 70 pts, given 2 scenarios:
1. A is worth 3 and B is worth 7 - yes, you just add up the total model points you got, divide by 100, and multiply by 10 (number of pts in question)
2. A is worth X and B is worth (10-X), you take the number of pts you got out of 30 and the amt of points you got out of 70 and weight them by X and (10-x).
In other words, AFAICT, the number of points in a model solution don't neccesaarily correspond to how much of the question that part is worth. If that were true, to get your score on the entire exam, you'd just count up all the model points you got and divide by the total, and that obviously isn't right as that doesn't weigh each question properly (ie, you can have a 10 pt question with 30 model pts and a 5 pt question with 70 model pts).
The model points depend on various aspects of the question: for example, a calculation with 10 steps may end up with fewer model points than a list of 10 items since the list probably has additional sub list items that you can get a few points on. But the amount of time to answer both questions may be roughly the same, thereby giving them equal weight in calculating the final total...

Hmmm...hard to remember. I think that the papers were already folded, but I'm not sure. We'll do both on-line and mailed grade slips one last time, then it will be on-line only. The first-year savings alone will cover the software expense.
Bruce
Bruce,
I hear that you will be the guest speaker in Hong Kong's actuarial luncheon. I look forward to seeing you. Have a safe flight to Asia.

Yes, I'm in Taipei right now, heading to Singapore Sunday, then Hong Kong on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to it, too.

Hey Bruce -
When you are in Singapore, I highly recommend the pepper crab and drunken shrimp at any outdoor seafood place on the East Coast Highway.
Yum!

Marian is right! Singapore's black pepper crab (and chilli crab) is a must. White pepper crab are becoming more and more famous too. Do go to East Coast Seafood Centre (cab driver will certainly know that). Jumbo Restaurant, Long Beach, or even No Signboard restaurants are all very good! If you have not time to travel to East Coast Seafood, just ask the hotel conceirge for the nearest "No Signboard restaurant". Bon appetite!

Thanks! I may have time on Tuesday to do that.

After seeing this in the FAP forum:
I have no crystal ball, but my money is on the SOA releasing grades on the 13th.
Fingers crossed for that.
Mine, too.
Bruce
I think I have to bring it up one final time:
Still planning a July 20th results release for CSP? Or is there reason to hope for something sooner?

Man, I wish it were true, but I highly doubt it. Maybe the kids they pay to stuff envelopes work quicker this year... ;)

Bruce
No problem, it's still excellent that you're here to answer that.
Well, guys - not to make the next week and a day stressful for you all, but preliminary exam results got released already. Amazing - a full day early.
Good luck to all of you with results! Hopefully this sitting has a 100% pass rate!

I wonder if they released them early to avoid a release on Friday the 13th. Sad if that is true.

I don't know it, but really, even if I did, translating your performance on the exam into a score that you could compare to the passmark is much easier said than done. That's one reason it takes a little while.

It was crazy listening to some of the people I work with who said they would not check their results on Friday the 13th. I would have been happy if my results came out then (a week early  )

Bruce, you always make us laugh!
Since results will not be out for a while, I think I am going to bed soon as it is nearly 1 am here. Have decided that I will check it in the morning, since if I wait up, and find out at 5am that I failed I will be too upset to sleep. If I pass, I will be too excited to sleep, so I am going to sleep now. Either ways, I will be out drinking tomorrow night, to celebrate or to drown my sorrows.... Good luck to all of us!!:toast:

I guess SOA alreaady put the PDF files on their website. But just not update those URL links on the exam results page yet. For AFE track, here is the link: http://www.soa.org/files/pdf/edu-results-AFE-numbers-may07.pdf
PS: Based on the timestamp of the pdf file, this file were created on 2007-7-19 12:45:49.

Same here, I passed and this is indeed one of the best days of my life. I was worried sick, and feeling less confident each day as we wait for results. This is a huge milestone for me.:toast: Will celebrate tonight, at a friend's birthday party. Good reason to get totall smashed! :toast: Cheers from Hong Kong.
Congrats to all of you that passed, and my condolences to those that didn't.
I'll be around next time CSP-ILA is offered!
I passed! Tears and beers were flowing on Friday! What an amazing feeling to finally be done! Congrats everyone!

I got a 5 on the Health exam and we didn't get a breakdown by question... I thought the SOA usually did this? Did those who did not pass ILA get a question by question breakdown on their score sheet or not?

I don't know about the final assessment, but mine was updated with the CSPIU score this morning. Somewhere I read that they update the result for the final assessment once a month, so maybe you will get that in a few days.

Are other versions sufficient (original iPod, iPod mini, iPod nano)? Or do they need to have the capabilities of the iPod Video? I've got the 2GB Nano, so I was just wondering.
What about iPhone, i will soon be grabbing one?
