Hi All :razz:

I was just having a look at the Actuarial College listing on the SOA site and i'm a bit baffled as to what the following question is asking:

Does your actuarial program include Validation by Educational Experience approved courses for any of the three requirements below?

* VEE-Applied Statistical Methods
* VEE-Corporate Finance
* VEE-Economics

If the answer is 'no' for whichever of the colleges, is that a plus? Also, does the question relate to exemptions from certain sections if not all of some exams?

The VEEs cover topics that used to be tested on exams, but now they are not on the exams at all. If you don't have credit for the older exams that included those topics, you need to get the VEEs in order to get your Associateship in either society.

If you are trying to choose a college, finding one where they already have classes approved for VEE credit would be a plus, but you can always either apply to get credit if you think you've taken a course that would fulfill the educational requirements of the SOA or take an approved online course or standardized exam later on to get the credit.

The easiest course of action from a career development standpoint would be to get them out of the way as part of your undergraduate degree so that you don't have to worry about anything but exams once you get into the work force.
