It's 10:00 the night before the exam, and time for my final pre-exam ritual, in which I watch the Alec Baldwin speech from Glengarry Glen Ross.
Except that I imagine him, not as a manager lecturing under-performing salesmen, but as a big-shot FCAS lecturing a bunch of pathetic students (like me) who can't pass exams. "Put that coffee DOWN -- that coffee's for passers!"
For some reason I find this motivating.
Three times I followed this ritual and passed the next day. Last May I neglected to do it and failed Course 7. I shall do it now.
