Can someone tell me where I could find a listing of insurance companies (P&C, Life, etc) along with their location (i.e. where their actuaries work)? ...especially in Texas? Thanks.

This might help, although it's definitely not an exhaustive list:

Do a search on the "Directory of Actuarial Memberships" on the SOA website. You can search by state, employment type (Insurance Organization is a choice), and Actuarial Organization. The last one would let you find either FSA's or FCAS's, which should be a good indication of whether you're finding a P&C company or a life/health company (Primary Area of Practice would also help with that).

What a student needs to search for are highly rated bosses. These people should get 1,2 or 3 stars.

If the bad bosses get ignored, then maybe they will learn to clean up their acts. Or maybe they will get side lined from managing people.

Could you please post a link for this boss rating site? :crazy:

\begin{fantasy}

I know it will never fly, but for a fantasy idea, it's not bad. Kind of like... what was it called, the site where professors got rated. potential new hires could check it out before accepting a job.

Sadly, it only works if the boss has a large enough number of employees to make it a reliable source of information.

Hi,

I was hoping to stimulate interest in someone else creating the site. However, I might make one myself if there is any interest. (Of course someone would need to help me set it up.)
