Is it possible to drag and drop using laptop touchpad or keypad combinations(without a mouse)?

I have a tablet and can drag and drop. I would assume that a touchpad works the same.

typically its tap and release the pad to select the item, then touch and keep your finger on the pad as you drag the thing do where it's going.
or if you pad has buttons under it use those as your mouse buttons.

I wouldn't recommend dragging or dropping a laptop, you might break something.
