I ended up flipping to the game last night and just couldn't turn it off. Taking down Kansas and UCLA is pretty impressive for them.

I also think it says something about the uselessness of the pre-season rankings.

Says a lot about preparation, too.
Says more about what a team's focus is: to win a National Championship, and better to learn from early mistakes than to learn while watching some other teams in the Final Four.
Rankings are pure thin air. And the voters are stubborn. They won't let these losses prove they're wrong.

My favorite part of the broadcast was when they showed the comparison of UCLA lounging around vs. BSU stretching/making preps to not cramp up too badly.

The ESPN announcer poo-poo'ed the advantage of doing that, but you know if it was the other way around, he'd be saying, "That's why UCLA is great, and BSU is a small time go-nowhere program."

#25!!!! What a joke. I thought about this on Wednesday (before the Duke game), and thought their ranking this week should be as follows:

beat Duke: #1
lose respectably: 10-15
blown out: 15-20

The loss was certainly respectable. If they were in a big conference, they would be ranked between 5 and 10 right now.

PS - I have no emotional attachment to BSU

Seems odd to see Ball State ranked ahead of Wake Forest, not to mention some of the schools not ranked at all (Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, Xavier, to name some semi-local teams, but most notably North Carolina).

Probably because everyone knows BSU isn't that good, so they didn't give Indiana that much credit.

Indiana will overtake BSU soon enough, don't get your panties in a bind. Indiana should be thanking BSU for getting themselves overrated going into the game. Otherwise Indiana would still be unranked.

Took down Miami U last night, always good. Unfortunately even with beating UCLA & Kansas and hanging with Duke won't be enough to get an at-large. Too long ago and they have 5 losses in the MAC. They'll need to win the tourney next month... They aren't quite white enough to squeak through otherwise.

Actually, beating UCLA is no big deal anymore. I was watching the UCLA/Vanderbilt game, and when Vandy won the fans stormed the floor. Why? UCLA shouldn't even be ranked.
