Let's pretend I am a political clean slate. A tabula rasa if you will.
I have come here to ask you people to help form my opinions on stuff. Because you seem smart.
If you could give me one thing to believe, or one opinion to have, what would it be.
GO GO GO GO!
Do not do unto others what you would not have them do unto you.
(or did you want something explicitly political?)

That is a great one.
I would prefer political stuff. Like muslims are bad (or good), death penalty is OK (or not), higher taxes are good (or bad).
But I figure you folks would have some creative ones.

People are stupid.
It's a great starting point for political thinking. Remember, the people who work in this system, and interact with it, will be stupid if you're lucky; if you're unlucky, they'll be stupid AND evil; if you're doomed, they'll be smart and evil.

You need only know one thing. Bush is evil. And dumb. You need only know two things: Bush is evil and dumb. And so is Cheney. You need only know three things: Bush is evil and dumb and so is Cheney. And all Republicans. You need only know four things. Bush is evil and dumb and so is Cheney and all Republicans.

Read what 2pac writes and believe the oppisite.
He's not always wrong. His conspiracy stuff is over the top, but he often shows great insight on other topics.
Take whatever Mulan says, and believe the opposite.

Seeing as how I put down 2 things I'm going for the loophole:
Belive this
Don't be a parrot, think if something makes sense before believing it just because xxxxxxx told you so.
Have this opinion
It's not humanly possible to agree with everything the Republicans (Democrats) do and disagree with everything the Democrats (Republicans) do if you have the ability to think.

Check the source of funding. If it's paid for by the same sources that buy your local and national politicians, no way. If not, maybe.
Also, conventional wisdom is very stupid and always wrong.

S for Sharing!
Including sharing risk. It makes for a more stable society, and relieving man of anxieties connected with questions like "if I get very sick or have an accident, will my children starve?" makes for clear headscapes for loftier pursuits like leisure reading of astronomy or history books.
The welfare of any society's most vulnerable should always be a consideration in one's political outlook -- the potical being the personal.

I have one belief that describes my political (and moral) viewpoint:
No person should be forced to act for the betterment of any other person.
