Can anyone tell me what exactly this coverage is? No one here seems to know for sure...

Found this through Google:
The HO-9 policy will cover sudden and accidental losses caused from water that escapes from a plumbing system. The loss to the foundation would also be covered.
But it was in the IRMI writing tips section, so who knows.

As I recall it is a cash value homeowners form. It is useful when the house is very old and expense of replacement with like kind and quality would be prohibitive.

I think that's HO-8.

Yeah, that's HO-08
I can't find an HO-09 on any current list of ISO forms.

I think that's HO-8.Actually, I think the HO-8 is still a replace/repair cost policy, but it has a lower requirement than LKQ and also covers fewer perils.

HO-8
1) Provides only modified RC as covers only the cost of common materials and methods
2) If not repaired or replaced within 180 days, insurer pays the least of a) Policy Limit b) Market Value c) ACV
3) For older homes with a much greater RC than ACV, may not be feasible to insure for RC
4) Designed to return a building to its functional, not preloss, state

ISO is really funny about the number 9. Maybe it was their catch-all for miscellaneous. They skipped number 9 as a zone; they skip number 9 for other items too. Anyone else notice this?

We have territory 9 for homeowners in ME. Protection Class 9 is in there
Nope. Haven't noticed it. :D

That's HO-8
I'm sitting for CAS 5 in the Spring and have never heard of HO-9. I only know about a HO-1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8. What the hell is 9?

I've come across HO-9's at two of the four companies I've worked at. In both cases, the HO-9 was a company product, rather than an ISO derivative. At one company, the HO-9 was an HO-3 with a lot of bells and whistles. At the other, HO-9 was a variation of an HO-6, geared towards co-ops.
