China Association of Actuaries Announced the New Credential FDA

On July 29th, 2016, China Association of Actuaries (CAA) announced that it will introduce a new credential named the Financial Data Analyst (FDA) in order to meet the needs of big data analysis in the financial sector.

The new credential has three levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced.

In general, for the certificate of FDA (Elementary Level), the candidates are required to take five face-to-face training courses (from Sep 3rd to Sep 17th), including
(1)Statistical analysis techniques,
(2)Foundation of Oracle Database,
(3)Excel modelling and VBA programming,
(4)SAS software programming and basic operation of SAS enterprise-edition wizard
(5)Practices of Data Analysis

After taking the five courses, the candidates are required to take a computer-based examination and solve some practical analytical problems using the computer. The first FDA examination is scheduled on October 9th, 2016.
