This blog will document my journey towards attaining the ASA designation. I am a career changer. I currently work in engineering project management but want to become an actuary. I am interested in mathematics and its actuarial applications. I have passed the preliminary P and FM exams. My next target is MLC and MFE in May 2011 and C in October 2011. I have previously passed all 3 levels of the CFA program and enjoy investing. As you can probably make out, i have an affinity for exams

I am enjoying my MFE studies much more than MLC. I can relate to the material a little more since I have seen some of it in my CFA exam studies. I am using the TIA seminar. I usually watch the lectures a couple of times and then work every problem that is assigned for the section. I plan to complete the MFE syllabus using TIA and then supplement practice with 'actuarial brew' and/or ASM. Not sure how much time will remain at the end. I am still committed to MLC and MFE in may 2011. It is looking doable if I am able to maintain the current pace. It is going to be a rough ride once the holidays are over and I go back to work.
